go to 2:35, the fight only lasts 14 seconds. Nutter shoots, Vovchanchyn breaks his face with a knee, and ends a 24 yr old, Mark Coleman protoge's career. Nutter never fought again.

          https://<object width="425" height="...mbed></object>

This is and example of what alot of people's, who have no grappling training, instinctual responce would be. Vovchanchyn is a guy who dominated from 95-00 in NHB in an era where wrestling and bjj was dominant, with striking.

Now Nutter could have got the take down, Vovchanchyn could have used lateral movement to avoid it, he could have sprawled and stuffed it. etc, etc, etc

          1) in "real fighting/real life situation" voluntarily going to the ground is the ******est thing you can do.
          2) Wrestling is for ******s

bro i have wrestled too, but i mean when you get a guy in there that can punch your head will be ringing. Also boxing conditioning is much different from wrestling conditioning. Imo in wrestling there are several instances where you can take short breaks, boxing there isnt really any breaks. Imo youll get popped too many times to get close enough for a take down. Even manny pacquiao or even a smaller boxer without gloves or those small mma gloves omg lights out. These guys hit really hard we criticize boxers a lot in this forum but truth is most pro boxer kick are asses.

500 people on a "boxing forum" tell me I'm an idiot.

It's pretty much common knowledge in the the combat sports realm everywhere else that wrestling trumps boxing as far as being effective in a fight.

Good Vid to demonstrate OP is an idiot.

But wrestling can be effective in one on one situations in street fights.

And wrestling isnt for ***gets its a legit sport that had been around for a long long time.

I could post videos of Igor getting the ****ed slammed through him by rampage it doesn't prove ****.

The main point is it has a lot to do with the fighter not just the sport.

                      I can post a million MMA video's of a wrestler absolutely tooling a striker but I won't.
