Ricky was confused. Might've helped if Sr had bothered to turn up on time to training or figured out that they were fighting a southpaw.
Floyd Mayweather Sr.:As for Ricky Hatton, he might have been just scared

I'd agree with this.
More hit and hold Hatton would have done the job better, saying that I don't think Hatton looked even particularly strong, from what I remember Pacman could escape the few times Hatton did try and wrap him up.
Hatton was smashed and rightly so, but he's probably feeling the consequences of being unprofessional.Comment

I agree with that statement, people have double standards.Originally posted by manglerNot Sr's fault. Pac>Hatton. Period.
They say Pacquiao is a much better fighter than Hatton and that Hatton could never beat him. I agree with that.
On the other hand, they say Floyd.Sr sucks because Hatton lost. That's ******, even with the help of Eddie Futch and Cus d'Amato, Hatton would have still got knocked out.
Which one is it?Comment

Wtf he talking about scared? does a scared man hunt his opponent down and take the fight to him? no a scared man does what Dirrell did and runs for 12 rounds. Ricky got up off the canvas twice to go at Pac, scared my ****in ass.
One of the main problems in the fight was Hatton stood there and tried to box Pac like Sr wanted him to, was never going to work. He should've used his Billy Graham tactics, prolly still have lost but would've gave himself a chance.Comment

Hatton just didn't have the skill set. He spent his entire career just mindlessly walking down and bull rushing opponents, when there's an actual art behind being a pressure fighter.
Plus Sr was only what? 2 or 3 fights deep with Hatton? You can't turn dog **** into diamonds that fast.
Even with Oscar, Sr. tried giving Oscar that shoulder roll defense and Oscar ended up paying for it. Vargas and even Gatti were able to hit Oscar everytime Oscar tried to put his chin in his shoulder.
That only works with his son because his son has no ****in kneck and a pea head lol. When Floyd Jr tucks in his chin behind his shoulder and leans back, Floyd's kneck and head are soo small that his shoulder is actually able to guard him pretty well. When everyone else tries that, their head's are still vulnerable and sticking too far out off their shoulder. You can just hit em on the top of the head and still score points.
lol Anyways point is, Sr just had a bad fighter.Comment

After reading your post, your real point is that Dela-Hoya and Hatton have large heads.Hatton just didn't have the skill set. He spent his entire career just mindlessly walking down and bull rushing opponents, when there's an actual art behind being a pressure fighter.

I dont know why Sr gets so much ****. He trained Ricky and Rcky didnt do anything he was suppose to. INstead he went head hunting with no D. Its not Sr fault he ditched the gameplan. The knock out alone was totally worth the $59.99 price tag!Comment
