I agree. But he's fighting larger, stronger men. You gotta adjust your style.

Alot of fighters have moved up and had to adjust ,but didn't resort to throwing one punch at a time. JMM was smaller and Mayweather fought him the same way then too.

As for ring smarts and boxing brains, both very high up, but Ali did not have great technique.
also, mayweather's resume is rat**** compared to Ali's, anybody can look good fighting C and B class competition.

come on man..this is a ridiculous statement ...who hasnt Mayweather fought? Cotto? Pac? ..Um he will face the winner.....Mosley?...that fight might happen...they are the modern day Rjj & B Hop who knows if they will fight.....im sure if the money is right it will occur..Mosley knows how the game works. ...and umm who else? Magarito? The guy who should be banned from boxing?....other than those token names thrown around...who HASNT MAYWEATHER fought throughout his career? He has been at the top of the P4P List since 1999 and hasnt been below #2..so how hasnt he challenged himself by moving up from 130 beating world champions in every weight class from 130-154?...and he hasnt challenged himself?..................

and your "ali, who wasn't afraid to give up his body to inflict punishment"] is dumb, do you not understand the sport of boxing? Do you think Ali wanted to take those punches to the head repeatedly? *sigh*.....why do you hate Mayweather for MASTERING THE ART OF DEFENSE?

HAHAHA That was a sparring match...Mayweather made Marquez look like he had never boxer before. Talk about the weight all you want, but weight had nothing to do with Marquez not being able to HIT Mayweather. His defense was superb..and this is the guy who gave Pac hell.....weight doesnt enhance defensive skills.

It takes a lot of skills to avoid top fighters so I'll have to chose Floyd on this one.

Yeah, a sparring partner he couldn't even finish off. A guy he could only manage to hurt once in the entire fight. Of course weight mattered. JMM was 130 pound fighter masquerading as a Welter. No, weight didn't have anything to do with Mayweathers defense, but it sure did with everything else.

Ugh, I hate this but I agree. Weight had nothing to do with Mr boat buyer's performance. It's not like he physically imposed his size on JMM or else Marquez would have been Gatti'd in 4-6 rounds.

If Mayweather would've used his SIZE, he woulda destroyed marquez....he basically got rounds in....
