I don't think Haye would necessarily beat Ruiz. It's an even boring match up.
John Ruiz: "I Would Rather Fight David Haye Next"

Agreed. You need to stay away from Ruiz so he doesnt grab on you and dry hump you for the entire fight. He is not a fighter you want to try to beat on the inside bc Haye himself might fall asleep trying to fight Ruiz. I would not want to see this fight it will be to boring. Ruiz fights they way he does bc of the Tua fight so your not going to get a gutty performance out of him. Its just not going to happen. Its going to be punch punch grab break punch punch grab break for 12 rounds. Haye would need to take a page out of Roy and Toney perfomance against Ruiz. He didnt really get a chance to lean in and hold all night bc they moved around the ring and kept him back.Comment

To clarify, is there any way Haye can not fight Ruiz next and keep the belt? What if Ruiz loses his fight?Comment

No there isn't.
This is the reason I find it so hilarious that Haye fans actually supported his decision to fight Valuev instead of Vitali.
If you listen to Haye fans (******s) you would think that Haye took this fight with the intention of then fighting a Klitschko and unifying belts. In reality nothing is farther from the truth.
Haye took the Valuev fight because it ensures he won't have to fight a Klitschko, which is his greatest fear as we have seen over the past 8 months.
Haye knows that by fighting Valuev and winning his next fight will NOT be against a Klitschko, that's why he jumped at the chance.
Furthermore if he wins he knows that Don King will have options on him and he knows the Klitschkos will not fight him with King involved.
So there it is, it is blatantly obvious Haye has accepted this fight because it will allow him to win a bogus belt and defend it against terrible competition whilst he conveniently avoids the best fighters because of "reasons out of his control."
We've seen this story before with English champs.Comment

The last few good lines was mostly subjective, negative exaggerated diatribe though. But thanks.Comment

We can discuss how exaggerated they are in about 6 months when everything I said is proven true.
Will the Klits fight Haye with Don King involved? Nope
Did Haye know that when he signed this contract? Yup
Doesn't take a genius to put together a 2 piece puzzle.Comment
