He should not apologise, and Berto should do his best to make the fight irregardless. Berto's trinket is worthless so who cares.

It is impossible to unify these meaningless titles anymore. Just ignore these trinkets and diminish their power or worth in boxing.


Also, Dirrell requesting a rematch is just a tactical move to ensure his place as no 1 contender to Froch's belt no matter the tournament's outcome. Highly doubt the fight would happen while the tournament goes on. His team are just safe-guarding his position for that title by following the protocol.

WBC, IBF, WBA, and the WBO belt are totally worthless. I don't understand why eliter fighters carry them. They don't need the belts. And, why pay to carry them? I have more respect for the IBO belt. Than the damn WBC best.
