Actually, Cotto talked because it was media day and reporters tend to ask questions and it's polite to give a response. If you see the actual video of the interview Cotto is as cool as a cucumber bro. No boasting, no denigrating the opponent, or claiming that he will KO the other fighter in a specific round; just plain speak. I will win. Period. I don't see anything arrogant or cynical in Cotto's remarks. He is very restrained., and as factual as a truthful person can be. He's saying he believes he will win, he doesn't say anything rude or crude against his opponent, but gives him credit for being a great fighter.

It may be more than Cotto usually says, but still modest and low-key. On the opposite side the Roach has been shooting his mouth off every tiny chance he gets, making one think that HE's the star, not Manny P.
