The ppv part is slightly understandable - the fight took place during the black box era, when it was so much easier to steal cable/ppvs. But the lack of interest surrounding that fight never sat right with me.

Another thing is that he hates doing promo work which is odd since he ended up doing commentary for a while.

Just going off of articles i've read in boxing mags about him showing up late or not at all to press meetings.

He also didn't like to fight anywhere that had cold weather because he says that he gets sick easily.

Oscar fought more top guys who could bring alot of money to the table (Chavez, Whitaker, Quartey, Trinidad, Vargas, Mosley).

Roy fought good guys, but they were never THAT good.

Because he was being ducked by everyone: Benn, Eubank, McClellan, Hopkins, Calzaghe, Mich, and everyone else priced themelves out or were ducking him. Jones would have beat all those bums on PPV.

He needed a dance partner, but everyone was shook.

J/k. Don't lie, you were butt hurt.

People don't give credit for that on here for some reason though.

James Toney was the first and only fighter calling Roy out until Tarver as far as I remember.
I know him and Hopkins had their little 60-40 thing and guys like Nunn may have said his name a few times but no one was going after him hard which says a lot about how good he was.

Here are the ones I checked out:
                vs. James Toney 300k
                vs. Trinidad 500k
                vs. Joe Calzaghe 300k

Some poor numbers, I guess it really had to do with Jones' arrogance like showing up late for press conferences and sometime not even showing up at all.

Even if they weren't bums Roy made them look that way like he did versus a prime Clinton Woods.

Because you knew he was going to not only beat but dominate every fight he was in.

dominance doesnt do well for anybody. Most of the time, arrogant dominators are turned off by alot of people. If you notice, the most popular fighters in history either took some to give some, looked vunerable in some way, but overcame hardship, guys like robinson, jones, ali were hated in their primes because of their nature. people just dont relate to it.
