Except for that one punch, Tarver couldn't land anything on Jones for 4 and a half minutes.
Jones controlled Tarver in the middle of the ring in their first fight. Tarver won most of his rounds by flurring him on the ropes.
Second fight only happens in the middle of the ring and Jones looked fit that day.
So assuming Jones would've won a lot of rounds and win the fight, is pretty easy.

Btw: Jones started the second fight better than the first one!

At least that's a better explanation than " uuuhmm something was looking wrong with Jones that night"
    OR
"uuuuh tarver would've landed that left sooner or later"
That's just pathetic. woow your know the outcome of a fight 5 years later. congratulations.
99,9% of you thought Jones would win and were shocked.
    spare your bull****

For the books, Jones was knocked down by Lou Del Valle with a jumped left hand(southpaw)

I was looking at some of my fight picks on another site and was dismayed at how off I was on some. And also how I let other people and news affect me. Some of my picks were downright embarrassing. That said, I picked Tarver to win this and I picked him by KO. Yes, Jones had a good first but Tarver had a good second and had just barely missed putting Jones' lights out with a powerful left about 30 seconds before he actually did it. I think that second round is more indicative of what would have happened--moreso than the first.
