taver vs jones 2 few questions and points

by most people opinion once jones came back from heavy he was esstentially past is prime when he eventually met tarver

now i am not the biggest tarver and i dont wanna discredit is wins but

jones tarver 2 - i think jones dominated the first round, he seemed very very sharp and i think he was going to put on a boxing clinic!!!

however tarver WITH is eyes closed!!!! knocked roy out - tarver proclaimed this to be a perfect shot blah blah etc etc but.....

was roy on is way to victory and did he just get caught and careless

or did tarver always have the edge on him in a stylistic way!!

any opinions welcome as long as there not ******!!!

Tarver would've got him at some point during the fight. It was bound to happen.

You can't really say that Roy was on his way to victory simply because he won the first round, there was eleven rounds left.I think even at that stage Roy Jones still had the ability to beat Tarver.I think Tarver always gives him a competitive fight but that Roy Jones at most stages in his career beats him.The third fight was as much as Jones losing the fight as it was Tarver winning it.

What you seen was a overrated, HBO built, hype job crashing to the bottom.

not saying he was on is way to victory

but from past jones performance he keeps hight level of performance in every round constantally its not like cotto marg where cotto dominated early stop that fight after 5 rounds cotto wins easy but cotto has history of tiring down the straight where jones dont thats what i was saying

he dominated the first round and would most likely of kept that stage of performance for every round

Roy did dominate the first round and looked to be in control until that punch tarver landed the KO blow. I think Roy would have won the fight easy but you could tell that something wasnt right with Roy in the ring. Tarver always gives him tough fights bc being left handed and the height difference but Roy would have won the fight easier that he did in the first. But I just thought something didnt look right in Roy the night of the 2nd fight.

Nah, man. The first round was a ruse. Tarver fought totally different in the second and you could see how uncomfortable Jones was.

after he had been p4p # 1 in all of the sport, won fighter of the decade for the 90's and had went from MW to HW and won titles...right?

and at that point he was 35 and had never been knocked down or out....

                Hype Job?

Tarver got a talking to in the corner between the first and second rounds if I remember correctly and came out fighting with more intensity in the second round.

I don't think Jones was on his way to a victory, his legs wouldn't have held up for 12 rounds IMO.

Tarver was going to land a big left sooner or later.

In fact, a few moments before Roy got decked, Tarver just missed the mark on a straight left. It sort of grazed Roy's face, but it bad intentions written all over it.
