The tournament would be very flawed if it didn't have Pacquiao or Bradley participating in it.

I do think he should be in any 8 man 140 lb tournament, but I don't think he has a better chance of winning than any of the other 8 names being thrown around.

Honestly, he is not a big puncher, his defense has holes and he throws his right very wide leaving him wide open. He has a huge heart, big balls and throws a hell of a lot of punches to compensate for his world class deficencies. I don't see him beating Peterson, but that is for another thread.

Back to the tourney. I like an 8 name format, but I like it as a bracket single elimination.

Let's seed them starting with the champions:

        1. Bradley
        8. Peterson

        4. Alexander
        5. Ortiz

        2. Urango
        7. Diaz/Malignaggi

        3. Khan
        4. Maidana

The only slot I am not really excited about is the 7 hole so feel free to replace it with who you like. I also considered flipping Bradley and Urango since Urango has held a 140 strap longer but Peterson/Bradley was already signed so I kept it.
That looks terrific. However... Bradley has never been on HBO, so that fight being part of any tournament seems like a longshot. I don't think that Khan is entering a ring with Maidana anytime soon, even when he is a raw powerpuncher. Ortiz? Why would he get a shot at two titles after quitting? Ah yeah, he is HBO's boy. Now, whoever wins Diaz-Malignaggi II is supposed to defend the NABO belt against the interim NABO champion (Kenny Galarza 11-0 11 KOs) or risk getting stripped and losing a shot at Bradley. Maybe the winner of those two fights can get the spot. Its not like any one of them have been flashing credibility around, Paulie and Diaz lost by TKOs not so long ago and Galarza doesn't even have 15 fights.
