people with knowledge about the sport and cottos career know the reality of things and what's going to happen on the 14th. hbo is already making preparations by the way it's portraying cotto in 24/7, mayweather already knows by mentioning "i wanna fight cotto" to defend himself against RAs accusations of him ducking top fighters, bob arum was being very vocal in the beginning favoring cotto over pacquiao until he realized his job was to promote and sell the fight, etc etc. it's no secret pacquiaos chance of beating cotto is slim to none. it's all been designed to lead up to this moment, hatton and de la hoya were part of the plan to make this big money cow fight happen.

to make the public believe manny was that good and that he had an actual shot of beating a true welterweight. it's an intriguing and interesting fight on paper due to the good publicity and promotion given to pacquiao. now they're preparing their next guy which is miguel cotto.
