HBO 24/7 ratings are significantly down with Pacquiao/Cotto.

There are 130,000 members of BoxingScene. If every last one of us was in the US and all bought the fight, the fight would still be a miserable failure.

The target audience is the mainstream/non-fan.

      And they enjoyed the fight.
Every mainstream/non-fan I talked to hated this fight. they said they'd never buy another PPV, and they said Mayweather was a lying bastard who claimed he'd fight and didn't.

And I actually defended Floyd and boxing a lot in that convo. Even got heated when MMA came up.

ESPN show I saw said it was boring. Number 1 rated podcast on ESPN said it was boring, they'd given up on boxing.

Of course the 24/7 may have lured them into buying it. So that proves your point.

This fight is set to fail. Cotto PPV numbers are very weak, he is unknown and doesn't have a personality. Pacman also doesn't have a personality. Both are boring individuals and no on outside the hardcore boxing fans actually know these two. The fight will not do 1 million PPV. Let's be realistic if PBF/Hatton couldn't no way does two non-English speaking clowns

Because that's all he has to rely on.

From an entertainment stadpoint at least...

To the casual fan his fights are a disaster. I like watching Floyd fight, respect his work, even the JMM fight which was pretty slow in some spots.

Manny and Cotto can put out the worst 24/7 possible and their fight will still entertain.

Hold up.... you don't feel Floyd fought in that bout? Set aside the noobs for a moment.

Do you, as an experienced boxing observer, feel that Floyd "fought"?

Manny and Cotto just don't bring verbal fire to their interviews and up close segments. They aren't the type of guys to feign certain personalities that do not fit them. Real boxing fans will watch the fight regardless.

Now, Pac's camp is having fistfights...and Don Miguel doesn't speak with his brother.

Mayweather is a laughingstock because he owed (past tense) the IRS 6 million. Now, Julio cesar Chavez owes (present tense) the IRS 13 million.

Man I hear you bro. There a bunch of double standards on this board. Then when a person brings them to light, there is always an excuse for it. I've been saying it to other posters for a minute and that is to be real. You know, call a spade a spade. They don't like doing that. If its Floyd, they bash him no matter the case (they love to bash him even without evidence of what is being reported by the media), if its another fighter that does the SAME thing, they get off the hook with a bunch of excuses. As my aunt says, "what's good for the goose is good for the gander".

I guarantee you that the promoters, fighters, HBO, sponsors, etc will NOT be satisfied by selling the fight to just "real boxingfans".

                      That is a myopic viewpoint.

24/7 isn't trying to convince you.
