That is the biggest problem real boxing fans have with these dudes.

The problem I have is when THEY do it out of ignorance and act is if nobody in history especially the great fighters in history would have never done some of the same things Mayweather is doing now...

If they criticize Mayweather for ducking Fighters...Find thats ok.
But then dont say NO GREAT FIGHTER would ever do that.
and then name fighters that have done it...

    You get my point?

boxing is the only sport in which contradictions are allowed to happen and the ignorant lead the ignorant.!
Yeah I see your point. It's that Floyd does himself no favours by claiming he's 'the greatest' every now and again. Hagler didn't go around proclaiming he was the greatest of all time and such. I'm smart enough to realise that this is part of Floyd's self-promotion, getting peoples back up this way is a major part of why he sells so many tickets, and I can take it all with a pinch of salt. But on the biggest boxing forum on the planet where the fans are the most selfish when it comes to the best fighting the best, it's inevitable all we're gonna hear is negativity....

      2. Hatton considered an ATG??
Is there anything else that needs to be said??
What does that have to do with this thread?
I used allucard poster to inspire me to write this thread in which I talk about boxing history, in which i used facts.

You can try to discredit allucard, but you cant discredit the facts I have written in this thread.

      try talking about this:

BOXING HISTORY 101: Why Precedence Matters !!! (Readers only thread)

      Great Post,
These so called hardcore boxing fans are so hardcore that they don’t know any HARDCORE boxing history...

They act is if Floyd Mayweather is setting precedence never seen before in boxing. They act is if Sugar Ray Robinson WAS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE ON HOW A FIGHTER SHOULD BE AND wasn’t the Biggest ******* in the sport when it comes to money... The guy would pull out of fights on fight night just to change to already agreed upon money split....

Imagine if Mayweather did that with somebody today...On the night of the fight, He says he isn’t going to fight unless he now gets 65% instead of the 60% he already agreed on....Could you picture the reaction????

      * People forget or dont know, that Sugar Ray Leonard never fought Pryor, when Pryor called him out in his face!!!

      * People forget or dont know, that SRL made Hagler wait 8 years before he would fight him...

      * People forget or dont know Haglar was NORTOROIUS for calling out a smaller man and making them come up to his weightclass to fight him.

Haglar was infamous from calling out welterweights and former lightweights.
(hearns,SRL,Duran) Sounds like a fighter we know today: (Hopkins)

      * People forget or dont know that Michael Spinks used to called Haglar out for years but Haglar pretended that Spinks didnt exist. Why didnt Haglar fight Spinks the biggerman instead of always making smaller men moved up and fight him.
Haglar always fought the Smallerman... But is his legacy tarnish?????

      * People Forget, that Roberto Duran just quit against SRL, because he could not take SRL style anymore...Picture what would happen if Mayweather quit a fight against somebody because their style was too hard for them to handle...

People act is if the past in boxing was some kind of holy time.
No fighter in history has fought everyone. NO FIGHTER!!!
Especially in their 4th weightclass. !!!

Jack Dempsey never fought any black fighters, Sound familiar???

If people actually learn some boxing history, they would not act as if Floyd is breaking every secret boxing rule in the book every time Floyd makes a decision.

This is why I dont take half of these clowns seriously.
Because they dont know any history, and complain about ****
that some of their greatest fighters in history used to do all the the time.
But when Mayweather does it, They act as if SRR,SRL,HAGLAR,DURAN,etc...
would never have never done that..!!!

boxing is the only sport in which contradictions are allowed to happen and the ignorant lead the ignorant.!

      thanks.

One thing that has not changed in the 100 yrs plus that the sport has been in existence is people will pay money to see big marquee match ups with the best fighters in the world. It's not rocket science.

The last time I checked, Shane Mosley, Manny Pacquiao, and Miguel Cotto are the top 3 on his potential next fight list. I'm pretty sure after November 14th we'll get a better idea of where Floyd's going to go from here. It's like, who do you REALLY think he's going to fight, Gamboa? You guys try to stick up for him like he's your pops, but even you being probably his most crazed fan on here have absolutely no clue what his next move is. So all these paragraphs of irrelevance once again is a waste of your time.
For me I think its necessary to back the dude because the media and the unsilent majority of boxing fans rip this guy and build upon ignorant claims that come to be accepted. I talk to some of the more casual fans of boxing and they buy some of the bull **** and hearsay thats spread around because thats all they hear so it's necessary to speak the facts and let these dudes know. I take it even more seriously because he's a black man and an american who isn't getting a fair shake. I can't speak for Horus but that's how I feel. Everything he said were facts though and relevant to the arguments being made on here in my opinion.

If you think, and honestly believe the only fighter Leonard did not fight was Pryor. Then this proves my point!

Mayweather called out Hamed after Corrales and wanted him to move up or fight at a catch weight

          What is your point?
Are you saying Mayweather introduce catchweights in boxing?

            Please explain.
Once again bro, it's the internet. It shouldn't be taken so seriously to "ignore" someone because they either don't agree with you or are being a little obnoxious (which is not an oddity on this site).

LOL and truthfully, I'd call you posts spam more than someone talking about what they're eating for dinner. What else more do we need to know about Floyd? Yes, he's one of the best fighters this generation has seen, but the last time I checked he's still in his prime and is apparently the money maker in the biz, so why not defend your crown like the other greats before him against the best?

boxing is the only sport in which contradictions are allowed to happen and the ignorant lead the ignorant.!

1st of all its Marvin Hagler.

2nd of all ok, Ray Leonard didnt fight aaron pryor, but he fought tommy hearns, marvin hagler, & roberto duran.

Ok Fraud jr. didnt fight pacquiao, margarito, tsyzu, cotto, casamayor, freitas, shane mosley, miguel cotto & paul williams.....

He made up for it by fighting sharmba mitchell, brusells, gatti, baldomir, gatti, hatton, old oscar, an even older career featherweight who was 36 years old with 55 plus fights at welterweight.

Not exactly wilfred benitez, tommy hearns, marvin hagler & roberto duran. That's why they dont hold it against SRL that he didnt fight pryor, & that's why fraud jr. is fraud jr.

Ray Robinson, yes was extremely difficult in negotiations. What do you expect a fair shake in a sporting contract WHEN THE BLACK RACE DIDNT EVEN GET A FAIR SHAKE IN HUMAN CIVIL RIGHTS?

3rd of all, Hagler comparison to hopkins fighting smaller men?

well tommy hearns & ray leonard won titles at 160, 168, & 175. What did winky, trinidad, & oscar do 160 & above?

4th of all, Pacquiao not fighting "black" fighters?

From june 2001 to june 2002, in a 3 fight span, Pacquiao fought 3 straight "black" fighters; Lehnolo Ledwaba, Agapito Sanchez, & Jorge Elicer Julio.......

but they werent "american slick black fighters" right? Well agapito is as slick & dirty as they come. Name me a american slick black fighter that pacquiao ducked in the lower weight class?

If your answer is zaheer raheem N**RO PLEASE......
