Valero is hype because he's not dedicated to his craft. He's taking five steps back by fighting a journeyman in Hector Velasquez. You don't see De Marco fighting Velasquez do you?
Demarco Stops Alfaro in Ten, Edwin Valero Next Up

That is cuz Valero couldn't get a damn visa to fight Humberto Soto... I lie DeMarco but he has not fought somebody as good as Pitula yet.Comment

um yeah, beating a monstrous puncher ranked in the top 5 at 135 in his first fight at the weight is a gift belt..........

Casa didn't get up for that fight against Santa Cruz. But regardless, those both guys are at the bottom of the barrel right now. If Valero is the linear champ, then he needs to fight someone better than Hector Velasquez.Comment

Velasquez is a crap fight no doubt especially for someone ranked #1 by Ring Magazine at lightweight. Hopefully the DeMarco fight is next so we can see if either or both are the real deal at 135.
DeMarco should have just fought Valero directly in hindsight instead of that bs interim match against AlfaroComment

lol Gawd damn, Demarco is like a big ass hybrid of Erik Morales and Oscar De La Hoya. He's obviously not on their level yet, but he can box comfortably like Oscar could, and he has an arsenal of punches like Erik. Plus Demarco's right hook is still my favorite punch in boxing, hands down. That **** is the shortest hook I have ever seen.
But I'm amazed at how composed and controlled Demarco looked tonight. That was a beautiful performance. If he can stay moving and finding his shots like he did tonight against Valero, he has a decent chance of taking that fight.
Now the one thing that kinda worries me, and I've been seeing it a lot lately, is that these fighters that DON'T fight in their natural stance have these moments where they freeze up on defense. Especially when on the inside when hooks are being thrown. It happened to Oscar a lot in his career, it happened to Ortiz in the Maidana fight, and a couple times to Demarco in this fight, and his past fights.-
-It's moments where they freeze up at the knees on the inside, and they don't know whether to duck the incoming punch, or throw their hook. Either way they end up getting smacked all because they initially froze and either stood there frozen, or decided to throw a ****** punch which resulted in their opponents punch being the only one that gets in. Against Valero, that would be a devastating mistake on the inside. But when that happens, they should just go through with the defensive thought, instead of getting caught up in the headlights and freezin up.Comment

lol That has to be a joke.
Pitula is just a strong fighter, aside from that he's garbage. It's Valero who hasn't fought a fraction of the opposition that Demarco has been up against. I mean he's a Top Rank fighter after all. Before that he was feasting in Japan lol.
Kid Diamond who was a legitimate belt holder, even in his decline is light years past all of Valero's opponent's skill-wise. And that was Demarco's career defining fight to this point, and he past that test convincingly.Comment

At least Pitalua KTFO Jose Reyes in a candidate for KO of the year while DeMarco went life and death with Reyes a year ago.lol That has to be a joke.

DeMarco is a good fighter with a size advantage but his average chin won't hold up against Valero's firepower and all-out attack.Comment
