If Jones is fighting a tough opponent his own size, why can't Hopkins?

He knocked Dawson down and might've finished him off if he had a few more rounds to do it. And not only that, he's a better fighter now than he used to be. Chad Dawson can't bring any money. It's unfortunate, but it's a fact.
I never said Adamek wasn't a dangerous opponent. Hopkins made no effort to truly make that fight happen, first by offering him a putrid 500k and then refusing any counteroffer. Negotiations lasted about a week. Hopkins just wants a payday which is after a near two year layoff, he returns to fight ROY JONES.

That's not true. Hopkins did low ball him the first time around, but the second time around they both AGREED to a 60/40 split in hopkins favor.

As I explained previously, HBO could not sign the fight, as they did not have their 2010 budget released yet. So the hold up was HBO. Adamek had a great opportunity to fight Golota to make some very good money in Poland, and rather than waiting around for HBO he took it, no one can blame him for taking the fight since that was a huge deal over in Poland. Meanwhile Jones is making a joke of Hopkins and dissing him and fans start saying hopkins is ducking jones and the rest is history.

Maybe. I don't remember any agreement and I did speak to a rep at Main Events. Maybe you can pm me a link or something when you get a chance.

Either way, Hopkins is fighting Roy Jones next. Joy.

Your right unfortunately. Three of the most talented boxers i've ever watched: Toney, Tyson and Bowe had so much potential but no discipline.
Its disturbing to hear Toney talk these days, dude seriously needs to retire imo.

Whats the point of fighting Adamek when the guy who schooled him, Dawson, is in your division and calling you out?

Dawson brings no money to the table and Adamek would've given Hopkins a chance at a third weight division. All this talk is gonna be pointless if Dawson doesn't shine against Glen Johnson this weekend. And I think he won't unlike what a lot of people think. Dawson's inability to put exclamation points on his wins combined with the fact that his promoter doesn't make an effort to turn him into a regional draw (until now) is why his fan base is limited to hardcore boxing fans who like his style. I don't like him or his style, but to each their own.

I like his style, but the guy needs to take some chances and try to ko some of his opponents. Im sure he could of got at least a kd against Tarver (rd 3) in their rematch.

                • Jones has the courage to go over to Australia to fight a cruiserweight former world titleholder. Hopkins as always stays home to fight a middleweight clubfighter.

Props to ATG Roy Jones for going to Australia to fight a dangerous opponent who's recently been fighting at cruiserweight!

However, Bernard Hopkins is fighting in the US against a middleweight journeyman. :gay:

Why? Why didn't he choose to fight someone who's his own size and as dangerous as Danny Green?
cause bhop is 45 years old?
