He did a decent job going to the body against Clottey, but Clottey just stood there.

And then on the flipside, Pacquiao is almost never hurt to the body. IN recent fights he is never worn down or hurt from a consistant body attack. He just moves around to quickly and too well, and he avoids the ropes very well too.

Pacquiao is much more difficult to hit then he is given credit for. Although all of pacmans opponents recently have been slow, and Cotto is by far the the fastest opponent Pacquiao has fought above 130 pounds

Point being, If Cotto isnt able to work the body i dont think he will be able to win the fight. And judging from both fighters histories, it's an uphill battle working the pacmans ribs.

    Thoughts?
if cotto can back pac up against the ropes, he will go to the body.

Like Roach said, Cotto will try to be like Juan Manuel Marquez, and that's exactly what were seeing now in Cotto's training. WHY? Because of Pacquiao's head movement and mobility it's largely going to remove Cotto's jab and body work--the only way Cotto will get a chance hurt Manny like [that] is if he bull rushes him which I don't think will happen. Expect Pacquiao to move clockwise like crazy while trying to counter punch Cotto. When Pacquiao becomes the aggressive one expect Cotto to suddenly back off like Juan Manuel Marquez and counter punch himself.

To TS go and watch the david diaz fight and come back and tell me that diaz did not land body punches. he did and often, so don't think that cotto will not land them because he will. the only difference is that diaz did not have enough power to hurt manny; trust me, cotto will..

streetbully with his cannot hit what he can't see.. that is cliche of the worst.

im still waiting for an explanation of how margarito was in a worst situation when he face mosley than cotto when he faced maragarito...

and the only times Cotto hasn't gone to the body has been in the last 2 toughest fights..in where one guy..tucked his arms to his sides and got mangled to the face..I'll tell you now..Pacquiao can NOT take those shots he gave Margarito..and the second one..the guy is known to be a shell and hard to hit clean as it is..

Pacquiao's defense isn't great..and Cotto can still attack good to the body..he's done it to Jennings, Gomez, Judah, Mosley, etc..
He was 18 years old when that happened, he's 30 now.

How about you loosen up and quit taking jokes so seriously. Whats the deal with the uppercase letters; getting up in arms as if you are part of the mans family? I think you asking me my age, and labeling me immature on a ****ing forum during a fight buildup highlights how god damn immature you are. Now that is what I consider to be "puteria". Get a grip, and learn how to take some humor, if not, don't try to act smart and smear.

                Lately?
Clottey is a defensive fighter and that was lately, Jennings which was second to last was hit with good body shots..I'm almost tired of talking about Margarito but his win along with all of his wins are questionable and he stands 5'11" and can easily fight at 154 or even 160.
Personally I think a fighter doesn't just stop being a good body puncher. He goes with what is available or adjusts to his opponent, which is one of things Cotto is good at, he does it all. I dont think he will need to attack Pacs body because he will KO him early.

Cotto already said he just couldn't get to Margs body and everytime he tried he got caught with the uppercut. Cotto is more verstaile than alot of you are saying, I just think come fight night when Pacman tastes REAL welterweight power he'll know Cotto is the truth and will ultimately get knocked out, so he needs to worry about any kind of flush shot, not just body shots.

                      Close Fight

I think Pac is definitly more explosive than anyone Cotto has fought. Judah had speed but does not throw from odd angles like Pac nor does he have the foot speed. I think Cotto is going to come forward and be setting the tempo early. I give Pac an edge but lets be real Pac might have a hard time hurting Cotto at this weight. He has taken shots from Mosley, Judah, and took a beating from hands of plaster and was never in danger until the end. I gotta believe if Pac lands a big shot and Cotto takes it well he might be in trouble.
