He would of made more money with Margarito. But, Baldomir wat the lineal champ. So IMO Floyd fought the right guy. Margarito was the more dangerous guy..

I wish the profanity wasn't on there, but RA was candid and upfront. He undermined his position a bit by not understanding the Sharmba deal, though.

...but Floyd lied. He didn't make $8 mil for Sharmba. He made USD 4 Mn. I remember that fight well.

Are you talking about the aftermath of the Baldomir fight, or the fight itself? For the fight itself, he made slightly more than $8 million, though he had to pay Arum I think $750,000 to buy out his contract from Top Rank.

But had he stayed with Top Rank and fought Margarito, chances are he wouldn't have landed Oscar for his very next fight, since Arum and Schaefer didn't kiss and make up until later that summer. That's why I asked if you meant the aftermath, because going the route he did certainly paid off financially in the long-term.

I agree though, very good interview. I've always like R.A., but haven't really heard him or kept up since I left LI six years ago.
