I agree with Williams. I do think Clottey cries to much. Lately I have really been coming around to Williams a lot more. I think he really is a humble dude and does his best to give credit where it's due, but I can understand the frustration he has and can let him off the hook when he starts to ***** about people not fighting him, only because people legitimately will not fight him. I think he should move on from WW because it's very apparent that he's not going to get a fight there. I'd suggest he make the jump to 168. That's a heavy division right now and there is a lot of money for him to make up there. I understand that if you can make 147 why not fight there, but if everyone else that can make that weight wants no part of you, well what other choices do you have. 54 and 60 just don't have enough big names. Williams needs to make the jump to 68 if he wants to land meaninful fights, although with the Super 6, he may still have to weight for anything there to free up too. Tough luck for this guy.

The comments on this thread underscores how people would rather be fans of fighters than the sport. A fighter like Paul Williams should be adored. Yes, he calls out big names - that's what he's supposed to do. But he is willing to throw down. How many young fighters would step in with a Winky Wright who, even at 100yrs old, is still someone nobody wants to fight. Williams was going to fight the middleweight champ, for christ's sake.

And now we have Clottey complaining about money, timing, his trainer, everything--basically throwing out every excuse in the book to turn this fight down. As if Williams doesn't have the same time to prepare. As if he just didn't get offered a monster pay increase while Williams is taking a major pay cut. As if he soundly hammered Miguel Cotto and Williams got beat up by Winky. Unbelievable.

williams was gonna fight pavlik, and now he's offered clottey a fight, he's calling top fighters out, and for the quintana thing pwill will KO him in the first again if he wanted to, thats why no one wants to show it.

a margarito rematch im sure a lot of people would want to see that, being that it would be margarcheato's return fight and knowing that he doesnt have plaster (not sure if he did in the first fight). i would like to watch this and im sure margarito will take it, big name, chance to beat pwill again, cotto doesnt want anything to do with him. dont know if it would be made by december the 5th though

if i was williams i would offer clottey more money since time is running short and catch clottey off guard....if he turned me down again then he clearly is scared and it would make him look really bad.
