    Joppy V.S. Joval.

I can imagine you folks could care less about these two fighters. I do however, and I think this would be a decent tune up fight for William at the end of his career. One last hoora before challenging for someones title. I am not saying he would win "the title", but he sure as hell would take Joval to school with lateral movement and de-rail him worse than Vargas did tonight.

What do you think? and please. Do not respond to this if the only Joppy fight you have seen is his loss to Felix Trinidad. That would be insulting to boxing itself.

What do you fellow posters think? Who wins at 160?

3-time "beltholder" is what I have heard. B.S.
more like 3 time WORLD CHAMPION. Someone eventually has to walk through his gate. And he is not going to let it swing open like he did against Taylor. I Gauruntee that people.

I think Joppy would dismantle Joval, but I don't think he's deserving of another title shot even if he does.

Joppy is a shot fighter, he looked like **** in his last fight with Taylor. That being said I think that a Joppy vs. Joval matchup makes sense for both men. Although I think that this fight to most fans is absoulutley meaningless it definitely makes sense.

I'm not sure who would win this one.

Most likely Joppy wins on points.

I really don't like saying that fighters are done or washed up but sometimes you just have ot face facts. Joppy is a tough fighter who had a damn good career but he's finished.

Even if he could somehow get back on track, he won't be able to get a shot at the title. He doesn't bring any money to the table and when your in a division where everybody, with a name, is running to, he becomes a non-factor. But really, he has been a non-factor for awhile.

If he was a heavyweight, he would not lose to a chump like Danny Williams or Buster Douglas. I am sorry.

but those are "If's" I suppose.
What is this about? Why did you edit your post, to put in a totally random quote to bash another fighter who is another weight class.

I was trying to defend my position in thinking that he is not a shot fighter; when everyone still gives Mike Tyson a punchers chance for the heavyweight division. It had nothing to do with you being a Tyson fan. And that is just the way I feel about these 2 fighters in general, and "media" hype.

It certainly has nothing to do with me disliking Tyson. That is for sure. I was using it as comparison. However deceiving my signature WAS.

However me feeling he is "deserved". My earlier point was though....if hypothetically he were to fight and beat someone as "popular" as Ricardo Mayorga, whom I think he would have little trouble in doing, would he deserve one then?

Oh and BTW...not on topic or anything>
but if you have seen it, who do you think won the Joppy/Byrd fight at middle in the olympics? I think Joppy was robbed.
If Joppy were to beat as someone as popular as Mayorga, I will totally retract my statments of him being a shot fighter, but he won't. He had his chance to do this against Taylor and he didn't. He didn't because he couldn't. He couldn't because he is a shot fighter.

I see...however how many people do you hear say, "Joppy still has a puncher's chance."

I would literally place every point in the bank on William in this fight. He would be far too slick for him, and would take him to school five times worse than Spinks did. He would hurt him also, worse than corey, because he is a far bigger puncher.
Why did you change my quote? I said if he were to beat someone as popular as Mayorga not if he were to beat Mayorga, I just thought that you were using him as an exmaple as a big name opponent.

Mayorga is fighting at 154 now anyway, but if they were to fight each other I think that Mayorga would beat Joppy.

mayorga would knock joppy on his ass.

quit defending joppy already and go to sleep.
