Do you find it odd that someone who punches so slowly gave Cotto problems?

His chin when down against Mosley because there was nothing to fear. Mosley just kept hitting him in that head, but he was being backed off cause of plaster.
Margarito didn't even bother fighting the same way, because he lost his jab when he lost his plaster.Comment

smm is just a bad ass style for him......same as margo to cotto......miguel would get beat everytime plaster or no plaster......Comment

Walls closing in on you in your head.. space becomes the issue not speed.
Effective pressure from a guy who is towering over you with a stonehenge chin can probably make the ring feel like it's half the size, so no. You see the same thing in a lot of Margarito's fights. The ring looks like it's shrinking once he gets going. Even Paul Williams couldn't get away and he threw what, 1200 punches that night?Comment

well Cotto didnt hurt Margarito because its hard to put power into your punches when you are going backwards. Power comes from the hips and lower legs and when you are stepping back then you are relying on just armstrength to generate punching power. That it is important to sit down on your punches to get maximum power.
Real talk, there are only a few guys in the history of boxing that didnt have to sit down on a punch to knock some one out. Arthur Abraham, George Foreman, Julian Jackson and Prince Naseem Hamed are the only guys I see no sit down on their punches and still knock someone out.Comment

Explosiveness is in the hips. If you ever watch someone dunk, a bit hit on the football field, or anything of sport such as boxing etc that calls for some type of explosiveness, you will see those athletes make teh same dip down and explode up or forward motion. If Cotto wasnt going backwards and was dipping down and exploding into his punches, those shots would have a completely different effect on Margarito. I may have not knocked him out but it would have pushed him back somewhat.Comment

Miguel was winning the fight despite the plaster, but the plaster got harder and harder. plus the early shots got to him. theres no way Margarito would've won withour plaster. Cotto almost made the 12rounds despite the plaster.Comment
