If thats the way to quit then i would gladly quit that way too, He was able to live to fight another day and if he didnt make a smart decision when he was down and out he wouldnt be in a position to be where he is right now.

Agree. If he would've kept on, knowing he had nothing left and got seriously hurt, we would not be talking about cotto vs pacquiao. If he has to do it again to save his life/health....do it again. People that are critical about what he did are not looking at whole picture but haters. News flash. Margarito got caught using old plaster handwraps he use against Cotto. So he was sentence for one year. the blood is shown in his handwraps when he fought Cotto. the only fight they have shown Margarito with blood on his handwraps and the only fight he showed a big hole on his handwraps. Margarito also admitted having tape on his knuckles which is illegal.

there for Cotto fought a man with bricks. No body has fought a man with bricks whos hasn't been seriously hurt. so cotto lost to a guy that had something no other guy has faced for many years. If we had more guys like this their either would be quitters or dead people. Lucky Margarito fought with a guy who didn't cheat, but knocked him out fast.

This debate has turned from the original point of view. I was not speaking about Cotto to attack his person, and certainly wasn't speaking of Margo to attack him and SPECULATION about loaded handwraps in the Cotto fight.

I have never read a documented statement by law stating that Margo was proven guilty of using loaded hand wraps in the Cotto fight. Please provide PROOF. I will come back here and wait for your response of PROOF that Margo was found guilty and sentenced for using loaded handwraps in that particular fight. If he did I think he should be barred for LIFE.

My point was NO MATTER what the situation, nothing changes the fact that his heart was exposed when he fought Margo. Cotto Quit, he was winning, I came into the fight pulling for both, I wasn't hoping for one , I liked both fighters. I couldn't believe Margo could take all those shots. Margo is a straight ahead bulldog with good power and a great chin but dead game. Why he used wraps is beyond me. They didn't help his chin, Margo has always been game to stay in the fight and took a tremendous beating and took the KO in the Mosley fight , he did that against his corner, COTTO on the other hand did the opposite. I had him slightly ahead coming into the 10th round, he was still throwing solid shots but was not fazing Margo. When you throw all your best shots and it don't faze the mang and he keeps coming then YOUR GAMENESS IS TESTED !!! A mang is tested when he is in the trenches , not when he is knocking everyone out.

So, lets just say Margo used loaded handwraps in the Cotto fight. I have never seen proof by law but lets say its there.

Cotto is a great elite fighter but at the elite level his heart is exposed and you see it in his last two fights.

Cotto found a way to QUIT. Men and dogs are simular. OLD TIME dogmen , years ago, before felony laws were written knew that a dog that quits will quit again and quit quicker the next time , that principle applys to men. I cited one example with Tyson and HOLYFIELD.

Cotto will quit again by someone who puts some mustard on him he can't get off.

Answer: He will QUIT again !

He is hoping he won't go back to the place Margo took him, its always easier to QUIT QUICKER the next time.

This principle has been proven in Life many times many ways.

Pacmang will take Cotto to the unknown zone after 7 and Cotto will QUIT. The only thing to stop it is a lucky punch by Cotto or Cotto gets KO'd early.

He quit, and good on him. It was the right thing to do rather than risk suffering permanent damage.

If cotto can take that much punishment from a hard "hitter" like margarito, don't think pacquiao hits harder than margarito. Also, if he did not quit in clottey fight with only 1 eye, he won't quit vs pacquiao.

We know Cotto can quit when the going gets to tough. Of course there has only been one occasion when the going got to tough and he had to get out of the kitchen.

Pac has made the kitchen too hot for many big name opponents as well. The kitchen got too hot for Morales so he also decided enough was enough as did DLH and Barrera. Cotto could be another one. Who knows?

Maybe Pac will quit if he dont get knocked out. It possible will be the first time for pac to quit because as far as im aware he has been stopped and that was out of his control.

WE don't know yet, but what we do know is he was thrown to the wolves in his early days and didn't quit, he has fought great fighters over the past several years and hasn't quit, and now he will be tested as an ALL TIME GREAT !!!!
