A speed demon like Pacquiao would take advantage of that, I also believe that Margarito took something away from Cotto; didn't place all the blame on the cut like everyone else did. I've seen Cotto look alot better then that.
but he looked like a million bucks against jennings?

great fighters struggle against great fighters. cotto & clottey are not classified as greats yet but both are good. no shame in having a tough time vs a beast like clottey.

yea i getcha exactly.. especially speed is what causes cuts right? coz of the quick friction of glove to skin it makes it worse doesnt it?

but yea i think so too that margarito took something away from cotto i cant quite put my finger on it but he took something away from miguel

Cotto looked bad against Clottey, that wasn't exactly a good performance. Everyone blamed it on the cut, I disagree. It isn't so much the level of opponent Clottey is, that didn't look like Cotto and most would tell you that.

                  Great analysis.

I took another look at Shane-Cotto last Sunday. It seems that this should not be the basis that Cotto can neutralize speedy fighters. Shane was very wary of Cotto on the early rounds. The reason, IMO, is Cotto's aura of invincibility then. As soon as Shane loosened up, he was taking the fight to Cotto but it was a little too late.

Me, I've got Pac. But it will all boil down to speed and his ability to take a WW punch. Pac's speed is the basis for all his advantages over Cotto. If Cotto can slow him down, pac will have to slug it out with Cotto. This would be great for a FOTY material but I do worry about Pac. As of now, Pac's chin is great in the lower weight and I think he will carry this on the higher weights. Which is the reason why I'm picking Pac.

Im hoping for a Slugfest too, but i have an eerie feeling it'll be a one sided fight in favor of who i do not know yet...i like both fighters equally
i think the main key for pac would be his speed
IF he can dazzle miguel with this speed which is unlikely but possible then he might be taking this fight
