My Analysis of PACQUAIO vs COTTO

    Interesting stuff about both fighters:

    Cotto:
    - Has not been the same in my eyes since his fight with Antonio Margarito.
Even though he’s won his last two fights, he hasnt looked as sharp as he did in the Margarito fight. He Seems very determined about winning against Manny. Cotto is certainly and no doubt more dangerous than a washed up weight drained Oscar De La Hoya and an overrated Ricky Hatton. His defense is pretty good too, he aint no Mayweather but his defense is alot better than most people think.

    Pacquiao:
    - Has had alot of distractions in camp with freddie roach, the typhoon has messed up his schedule, had a little but hopefully minor beef with his trainer freddie roach, Might be a little overconfident after his big wins over De La Hoya and Hatton.
Has carried over his unbelievable speed and power through moving up in weightclasses.

    KEYS TO VICTORY FOR BOTH:

    Cotto:
    - Must utilize his size and power against the slightly smaller man.
    - Must make great use of his great timing and counterpunching abilities.
    - Trap Pacquiao as much as possible on the ropes, Cotto is great at that.
    - Attack Pacquiao’s Body, Cotto is one of the most vicious body punchers in the welterweight division.
    - Must be prepared for Pacquiao’s speed, yes he neutralized Zab Judah’s and Shane Mosley’s speed when he fought them but neither of those guys punch in the same volume as Pacquiao

    Pacquiao:
    - Must avoid being backed agaisnt the ropes at all costs.
    - Utilize his speed and as much as possible avoid exchanges with Cotto.
    - If manny boxes Cotto like how he boxed De La Hoya his chances of winning this fight is GREAT.
    - Target Cotto’s eyes, he gets cut VERY EASILY.
    - Pressure, pressure, pressure, Cotto has been very vulnerable to pressure but of course manny isnt as big as other welterweights but nontheless it should help him win this fight.
    - Be prepared to take and guard against Cotto’s vicious body punches

    My Prediction:
……i have none… im just excited to see the fight. i’ll be equally happy to see either guy win

yea.. i just wanted to share what i think about the fight everyone is welcome to share theirs

How is that interesting, unique, or new in any way? And it's not that my comment doesn't apply to the rest of it I just stopped reading there.

Where was Cotto's body punching against Margarito? Clottey? Pacquiao is alot quicker on his feet then those 2, going to the body may be dangrous in that Cotto will get hit upstairs. Pacquiao doesn't leave his jab out there long enough for Cotto to land the left hook to the body. It's a very good analysis though.

Well since it was so easy for him to hit tony in the head he prolly just didnt bother throwing to the body that much
clottey's defense was giving cotto some trouble that could be why
but as for the pacquiao part.. good point

i didnt even think about that

Thats a good unbiased view. Should be a great fight. Alot of people think that he isnt the same fighter now compared to the pre Margarito Cotto. I disagree, No one has looked dominant againts Clottey, Clottey is one of the top WW in the world, I dont see any of the current WW's dominating or looking good againts Clottey.

Pac wins if he can take Cotto's punch and/or elude it for 6 rds. Otherwise he gets KTFO.

You were on point 100% though, difference is, I'm not giving Cotto much of a chance. Cotto was cut against Clottey, say that were to happen again. A speed demon like Pacquiao would take advantage of that, I also believe that Margarito took something away from Cotto; didn't place all the blame on the cut like everyone else did. I've seen Cotto look alot better then that.
