Michael Katsidis To Force Juan Manuel Marquez Title Shot

Gotta give Katsidis alot of credit for being so eager to receive his beating.

It always seems so easy to beat Katsidis, until you're in the ring with him. Ask Casamayor how easy it was. Katsidis was very close to knocking him out, but Casamayor was up to the task and came back to throw a nice shot that caught Katsidis at a vulnerable time.

This will be a good fight, I guarentee it. It's a fans' fight for sure and one that everyone would love to see, regardless of who you think is going to win.

I give Marquez the advantage because of his counter punching and Katsidis' lack of defense. That being said, I think Katsidis will give him a good fight and remember, Katsidis has great power, which can be a big x factor in a war of this sort.

Also, we don't know how going up in weight and getting beat by Floyd will effect Marquez. He might be fine, but he better be ready for a war if he fights this man.

I would normally pick Marquez easily.


His age, getting worked over from Floyd plus making weight for 135 might be hard for him now.

We may never see the same Marquez again.

I personally doubt we see this fight happen. Marquez I think will chase after one last big payday.

Well, that is actually a good point and Katsidis comes to fight and isn't going to give him a rest if stamina turns out to be an issue after going up and then coming down in weight.....we just have to wait and see.

It will be most likely the same kind of fight like diaz-marquez.Katsidis is a pressure fighter like diaz and power like diaz.If you watched the fight u can see that marquez figured diaz out.

Exactly. And that's how I see this fight (if it is actually made) playing itself out. Marquez "struggles" early and adapts and then wins. Diaz had a great performance but he didn't hurt Marquez as much as the announcers were saying. It was tough for Marquez but once he figured him out it was pretty easy for Marquez.
