Mosley is willing to wait another month to age and take an easier fight with less money in Berto. Now I know it gets on some people's nerves to call Paul Williams feared and avoided, but you have to admit that the big names stay clear of his path. Dzinziruk, Clottey, and Martinez expressing interest in fighting Paul Williams does not change that.

And for the record fighting in December isn't "short notice." That's plenty of time to prepare.
How long is the average training camp for a big fight for most boxers? Is there like a standard rule of thumb? I realize that for a BIG fight the training might be longer than otherwise or if a fighter has been fairly active it might be shorter than normal but how many weeks is probably sufficient for training?

      Just curious

Williams does seem to have a hard time getting big name opponents I've noticed

Here's what separates me from say for example fanatic Cotto followers. Shane Mosley is in my top 5 favorite fighters (Although I like Paul too) and I admit that Mosley is ducking Williams. Guys like Ch@mpbox says he has to fight this and that guy to deserve a shot at the top three of a particular weight division.

I mean, how do you fight guys if they don't want to fight you? His camp needs to use the Margs reputation of being the most feared man in boxing....uh, wait that's when they got the fight with Williams, never mind. I was thinking that they could get someone to step up and challenge him but he was the one that stepped up to fight Margs. It sucks when the promoters don't want to put their stable boxers in with tough competition or when the fighters themselves duck out. What was Mosley's reason for not wanting to fight Williams?

Good. Paul is the WBO interim champion @ 154, Dzinziruk is the WBO champion @ 154. Enough of these interim belts.

Come on guys, Shane isn't ducking Williams. I mean really, he's afraid? The man is nearly 40 and pretty much fought everyone out there. You stick around long enough and there will always be a younger fighter you are accused of "ducking."

Besides, Shane is a welter and not affective at 154, and regardless of what his camp says PWills days at 147 are done.

I liked the Martinez fight better, but as long as Pwill gets a title shot it's all good. He beats Dzinziruk.

He said there styles didn't match up well. If Mosley wants to fight Berto that's fine. But what if that fight falls apart some how? Mosley will have to defend his stripes in some way. He can't go another year without fighting if he wants to be in top form.

Why not fight a middle like Sturm? I think PWill is just a bit better then Dzinziruk not really a compelling fight we all know PWill is the best light middle. PWill vs Sturm would be epic there styles matchup perfectly
