If you found it boring you should blame HBO not the fighters. There are not entertainers they are boxers. Floyd is so full of himself and contraversial (also the rest of the Mayweathers) that its entertaining. If you are a fan you would appreciate it. So if they take it out and there is no more 24/7 would that satisfy you. Read some of your post and you have a lot of insights but when it comes to Cotto you can't put your biases aside. By the way are you watching the fight?

These fighters shouldn't have American music in their backgrounds... and Cotto, for example, listens to a lot of "salsa gorda" (old school salsa) and this was perfect... the Aguanile of Hector Lavoe while they presented him was a nice touch.

I liked the episode. I know it's not flashy like those of Mayweather, but it seems to me more culturally aware and revealing.
Yeah! Aguanile was the best part!!

I mean, this 24/7 is something to watch, but I'm just hoping something more interesting happens. I would order this fight if it didn't have such a horrible undercard.

I can't beleive the posts of some ppl in here (iceta).Theres no reason why hbo says "step into theyre lives before they step into the ring".What do you expect a grammy screening? Its only the FIRST episode. That is just coverage of the begining at camp.

Anyways.B+ for the angles, astonishing footage, and it showed very good humanity.

Aquanileeeeeeeee!!! Loved that part of the cotto camp introduction. Not to mention the airforce walk to the gym.One scene had them lined up being introduced like ocean's 11 at the mansion.

            Laughter.

You have to throw that in there.Funniest part was the huge guy from cotto's camp dropping from the sky into the pool.A documentry can't be too serious.

Totally agree with you. That undercard really sucks. As bad as Don King is, in the 80's and early 90's his undercards were sometimes better than the main event.

You make it seem as if having a smaller entourage is a bad thing. Not every boxer needs to have 20 guys on his payroll, just the same as not being friends with Trinidad and Juanma. He is very good friends with Calderon, so what exactly is the point in even bringing that up. Neither of these guys are friends with Quintana... just because you're a boxer from the same country doesn't mean you have to be friends with each other.

Also that typhoon took alot out of the episode. It was such a disturbing image of those ppl drag by the current. My prayers are with the ppl of the Phillipines. It was a reminder thru out the episode of the bad condition they were enduring over there. You wanted to see more of the boxers but you couldn't look away everytime they show images of the devastation

There is an edit feature when posting to this forum --- you should have used it...
I agree... what's the point of showing a 24/7 of fighters if we have to make them conform to the image a certain group of people expect from them? This is the music they like, the music they relate to... it's part of their personalities and culture.

I agree, it was really powerful.

Also, I'm not too concerned about the first episode being more about Pacquiao. # 1 There was more drama there. # 2 In JMM/PBF 24/7 they alternated the focus of the episodes, so they'll probably do that here too.
