Now, please ask yourself: after watching the first episode of 24/7, does the mainstream / non-fan feel compelled to watch future episodes, and do they feel compelled to watch the fight? Is the fight on their radar as a "can't miss"?

Well, I respectfully submit that such a viewpoint is near-sighted, my dear friend. You love the sport. You want the sport to grow. You want to see more of the sport.

Mainstream fan interest equals more money , interest and viewers to the network for boxing. And then the network puts more boxing programming in their budget. Perhaps the 'free' networks even carry the sport again. Who wins? You do.

Sure. Kimbo Slice is a hype job. But he is a hype job who basically forced CBS to give him a network slot on a Saturday night.

Mayweather may be a gay potshotting running ducker. But his antics drive fan interest. When he was away from the sport, fan interest went down. That is a measurable, proven fact.

i met up with a buddy of mine (non boxing fan) yesterday and he hasn't seen the 24/7 episode so i was lookin for it On Demand...unfortunately, it wasnt available yet...what they DID have were PAC and Cotto's greatest hits...you know, those 5min snippets...well, we watched both and afterwards, his words were 'wow, i actually wanna see this now'...no bull****...with action fighters, 24/7 is really just a supplemental hype caveat...just show highlights and most people get sold
