How many times does it have to be said... Freddie was pissing around when he said that. He already made that clear, yet people keep nitpicking and making mountains out of molehills.

    Why?

Because they enjoy the drama. This place is a damn soap opera.

They don't actually give two ****s about what he said, because if they did, they'd also give two ****s about OTHER things he said, such as "I was just playing around."

If Pac losses he will be wrongfully known as a overrated hypejob. He will get ****ted on. That is how fans are nowadays. Every single loss is a huge step backwards to fans. Imagine if Floyd losses. You know how many fans are going to use the word overrated, hypejobe, exposed. It happens every single tme. If Pac beats Cotto and decided to fight a trilogy with JMM. Fans are going to say he is ducking Mosley and Floyd. Why is he fighting JMM when JMM lossed to Floyd? But, since JMM lossed to Floyd at a weight he didn't belong in he pretty much lossed his opportunity to fight Pac. Unless Pac losses.

If Edwin Valero losses just once he is going to become known as an overrated hypejob that got exposed. P-Will losses overrated, Juanma Lopez losses he is an overrated hypejob, Cotto gets ****ted on cuz he lossed to Margarito, The Klitschko brothers lose they are overrated. Berto and Gamboa lose overrated hypejob.

Examples... When Trinidad loss he was 'EXPOSED', When Pavlik lossed he was a 'HYPEJOB' who got 'EXPOSED', Juanma Lopez damn near lossed and became an 'OVERRATED HYPEJOB'. It hapens with every fighter as soon as they lose. So is going to happen with Pac. It shouldn't but it will some fans are really clueless and as soon as a top fight losses he will become an OVERRATED HYPEJOB who got EXPOSED.

If he loses so what. Pac is in a very unique position where a loss doesnt hurt his legacy whatsoever. A win just adds to his remarkable legacy. He's fighting with house money right now, everything to gain & nothing to lose. He's already beat the odds enough times, a year ago people would laugh at him fighting Cotto.

The hypejob status won't apply here, 6 world titles in 6 weight classes is real.

Agree on most points, and it's a shame it's the way it is. There is a slight difference here, though. If Floyd went to middleweight and fought someone as big as Pavlik, then lost, I couldn't really knock him for it. It's the same thing with Pacquiao taking on a guy who outweighs him by 20 pounds.

I don't see Pacquiao losing to Cotto, but I'll stand firm and say he, along with any fighter who is prepared to take on the best in higher divisions, will never lose my respect no matter what the outcome. To lose respect for Pacquiaio would be to suggest that Miguel is a poor fighter, but he's far from it. Contrary, he's great. If he beats Manny, he deserves respect, but we also need to keep it in perspective -- being the bigger guy who's already well-established at WW, he is supposed to beat Manny.

Now, if Floyd lost to Mosley/Margarito/Cotto, I'd say yeah, fair play and all that, but you are not as good as your big head claimed, so maybe it's time to shut the **** up. I would still give respect for taking a real fight, though.

4 years ago the thought of Manny fighting Hatton after he beat Kostya Tszyu wouldnt even come to anyones mind, or even fighting a bigger Cotto but look at him now? after he destroyed Hatton he is fighting another bigger guy and not just big but a welterweight champion who happens to beat Shane Mosley and Joshua CLottey. if Manny loses its not the end of the world for him. there are more fights out there for him and plenty of money to be made.

I agree but at the fans nowadays are not like that. How many people use the word exposed and hypejob after Pavlik went up 10lbs and lossed to Hopkins. If Pac wins how likely is a trilogy with JMM? I think not likely and why. Cuzz JMM lossed to Floyd. If JMM stayed at 135 and rematch Juan Diaz and won. He would be in line for a third fight with Pac. But, since JMM lossed he is out of the picture unless Pac losses.

Whoever losses between Pac-Cotto is still a top fighter IMO. However, the loser of the fight. Even if Cotto losses. Will be known a hypejob or overrated or exposed. Is ridiculous now that a fighter can't lose without getting criticized. If you keep fighting top level competition sooner or later you will suffer a loss. The only way to remain undefeated is to keep fighting easy touches. But, if you keep fighting the best you are going to lose and when you do fans are going to use words as overrated, exposed, and hypejob. And, it shouldn't be that way. Me pesonally I never cared what a fighter record is or if a fighter losses I just want to see the best fight the best.
