    What IF Manny Pacquiao loses!!!

Disaster looms: What IF Manny Pacquiao loses
October 24, 6:05 AM NY Boxing Examiner Michael Marley

I realize that this is a violation which could get me barred permanently. I know my tourist visa to Pacland could be quickly and permanently revoked.

But I am going to go where few men have gone before. I am going to publicly use the dreaded “L Word.”

And no, I don’t mean “lesbian” because I hate it when they won’t let me watch. (Mark down one old, tiresome and probably non p.c. remark.)

I mean “losing” as in Manny Pacquiao losing to Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14.

Usually, there is discomfort and paranoia among Paclanders in the fortnight before a Pacman bout.
Usually, the Pacman camp is rife is dissension and infighting with bloody knives as evidence of such.
Usually, Pacquiao seems—and here is the permissible but also dreaded “D Word, distracted.”

Now, however, after a mainly productive and tranquil camp in rainy Baguio, the guys around Manny are holding hands like a bunch of Cub Scouts.

Now the hard to please Coach Freddie Roach, the stern taskmaster, is all smiley face and predicting a one round blast out for Miguel I’m No Angel Cotto.

I don’t know about you, Pachuggers United, but I preferred it when Team Pacquiao was erupting into disputes and fistfights and when Roach was howling and growling like a grandfather with a terrible hemorrhoid problem.

Could this reversal of the normal, abnormal Pacquiao training camp status bode ill for Our Hero?

So what does happen if Megamanny loses…so glad you asked because I’ve given it some thought as we await Saturday night’s riveting opening salvo of the HBO 24/7 infomercial series designed to sell us all a fight we decided to buy and support the minute it was announced.

Will Manny losing make an Angel like Locsin cry?

IF MANNY PACQUIAO LOSES, THINKING THE UNTHINKABLE:

He is still the Pinoy Idol and an international sports icon…

Bob Arum will force a rematch with Cotto even if the Puerto Rican has any other notion…

Excuses will not be made, at least publicly, as Manny will “Manny Up” and blame himself for getting nicked…

Pacland and other Manny oriented websites will generate even more page views as the Pacquiao Worldwide Army (PWA) mans its battle stations to discuss putting Humpty Dumpty back together again…

A defeat might restore some of Pacman’s past hunger and desire which was understandably whittled away by all the riches, all the adulation…

One, two or three in the Inner Circle figure to get the axe but not Michael Koncz who has a Velcro like attachment to Da Bossman Pacman…

Freddie Roach will tone down his prefight act and skip the insane KO 1 predictions next time…

All the beautiful women in the Philippines and those who are OFW’s will cry an ocean of tears. I hereby volunteer to give comfort and aid to Angel Locsin...

Pinoy men around the globe will curse and gnash their teeth in anguish…

The children will wail because they won’t understand it all…

The elderly will think it’s the End Of Days as predicted not by Roach but in The Bible…

Pacquiao will have a chance to write his awesome comeback chapter…

Cotto will wonder why, having beaten Pacquiao and defied both the betting odds and the pundits, why his “star” doesn’t shine as brightly, why it is not as luminescent, as was Manny’s…

Cotto will learn that beating the Manny won’t make him the Manny…

The rematch will be smash all box office and PPV records…

And the winner in Chapter 2, besides Arum and HBO and the other usual suspects, will be…

    Suddenly, my keyboard is brokkkkkkkkkkkkkkeeeeeeennnnnn!....

Honey, ring up Madam Auring straight away!

If he loses, so what. At least he had the balls to step up to a higher division and take on arguably the best WW in the world. Pacquiao's ATG status is already a given. He actually has nothing to prove. If WW is a step too far, that's just the way it is.

He'd be exposed for the hypejob he is.

      /sarcasm

But seriously. There has to be some point in Pac's career where he can't go any higher.

If he loses, he loses, he will then fight marquez in the most anticipate rematch since lewis vs holyfield.

Listen, boxing is fu(ked off right now!!Marquez lost his place pound for pound by being beat by a bigger, stronger faster & better fighter, who refuses to fight anyone his size!!So that tells me that all the great work Pacman has done will most likely be overlooked, which isn't right, but that's what fight fans have become!!

I'd be a little dissapointed if he lost.. As a boxing diehard, I want Pacman vs Floyd to bring back boxing.. As a fan I want to see Cotto vs Floyd... Win-Win for me to tell you the truth.

Roach will finally shut the **** up (hopefully), and Pac will move down in weight.

To bring back boxing from what exactly?

                    It hasn't gone anywhere.
