I'd go back further. The right hook was the key weapon against Morales the second time, although Morales was pretty much faded then. Against better opposition (Marquez) it didn't produce the same results. I don't see anything different since except he's fought the stationary Diaz (who went life and death with an even more faded Morales), a shot Oscar and the Get-Hitman Hatton. That, I think, may be why Pacquiao seems to have done the impossible by retaining his speed (wow!) through so many weight classes.

Cotto is a welterweight champion who beat Mosley and in his prime with a questionable defeat against Margacheato.

this is for Manny's question not Mayweather. wrong thread.

Manny's power having adjusted to the higher weights is underestimated. Hit hits much harder than you guys think. We will see when he fights Cotto if I am right or wrong.

The speed might come down to Alex Ariza and the type of training he's been putting Pacquiao through. It's designed for that exact purpose, as far as I know -- to retain speed and explosiveness while gaining weight.

            Proof...

He handled David Diaz easier than he did Jorge Solis...

He dominated Oscar De La Hoya easier than he did Oscar Larios...

He KTFO Ricky Hatton easier than he did Emmanuel Lucero, LOL...

Will he destroy Cotto easier than he did Jorge Eliecer Julio???
Is PAC faster at these higher weightclasses? A: I don't think so, but he's still faster than most.

Is he stronger at these higher weightclasses?
A: Yes, obviously, he has gotten bigger. But, how is his strength compared to natural WW? Who knows, probably not.

Is he better at these higher weightclasses? A: Yes, but, it has more to do with him wanting to learn more, not because he moved up in weight, duh.

I'm sure. But unless Pacquiao and Ariza are privy to something no one else is, I don't think that's the reason why Pacquiao - a great fighter in the bottom divisions - appears to be the fastest fighter in the middle divisions. Let's see how he fares at welter against the same caliber of opposition he fought then. Diaz, Oscar, Hatton and Ariza aren't the measuring points.

Yup, let's see. I mean personally, I think he will hold his own and stay sharp because he's grown into the weight, it's not like he's eating to go up to WW like Marquez drinking dozens of quayle eggs. I'm guessing his walk-around weight is maybe ~154-ish, it's not like he's a super small guy, just sort of compact! 82% of his weight is in his calves.
