The first Vargas still has it. Ffs guys, Cotto struggles with big WW's which are as heavy as him come fight night. How about a HUGE 154 pounder? The Vargas of the mosley rematch was done though.

Actually I mentioned 147 because Cotto @ 154 has NO CHANCE.. Too short and stubby for 154.. Twatboy

Vargas was still slow and easy to hit. He survived on his underrated boxing skill and toughness. Still you could see the right hand coming at that point. It would be tough, and Cotto might be too small, but skill wise, Miguel would tag him pretty easily all night I think.

Margarito walked through everything, Vargas won't. Clottey was hard to hit, Vargas isn't.

Which Vargas do you have in mind? The first mosley vargas would win, the second one would get beat up and lose.

Cotto's defense is't exactly good either though.

I think the Vargas from the first Mosley fight would have beaten Cotto as well. Kirkland may have before he went to jail and Dzinziruk and Williams would too. Cotto only shines against smaller guys like Judah and Pac (who might even still beat him regardless). Cotto will eventually have to move up to 154 though. He'll get beat when he does.

Neither version beats Cotto. The younger Vargas used steroids and the other one was fat without them.
