Is Andre Ward really the real deal??

    .....well is he??

Andre Ward couldn't get a tougher fight than this. Don't get me wrong I like Ward, he's a very talented boxer and seems like a nice down to earth guy so I wish him all the best, but at the end of the day he is still very green. So far he hasn't even fought a top 10 fighter (No, Miranda is not top 10) so it's impossible to know how good he is.

Kessler is a proven worldclass boxer and many people think Kessler is the best boxer in the SMW division, so this is a HUGE step up in class for Ward. I don't expect Ward to win but this fight will give us some answers how good Ward is and what he can possibly do in the future.

Take away the Calzaghe fight, and focus on Kessler wins. Remember that Kessler hasn't lost but a handful of rounds in his career. He hasn't been challenge in any of his fights. "IF" Ward were to win I take my hat off to him cause then he is obviously "The real deal".....It would be a huge statement, a major upset. And I would make him the favorite to win Super 6.

I give y'all credit for going out on a limb with your prediction that Andre Ward will be victorious, But what do you base them on??? I mean I find it strange that so many fans pick Ward to win even though he hasn't really fought anyone?

If it's not wishful thinking then please break down the fight and tell me how Ward's gameplan is going to look like in order to win. (I'm really curious)

Ward and Dirrell are quite green but they have the basics.Kessler is the favourite to win this fight but maybe I just have a biase towards boxers.Kessler is a bit stiff and moves in straight lines. He's got power and a good jab but not necessarily the fastest fighters out there.Ward is more well rounded though less experienced but faster with a good defence.I would obviously want to see how this one goes but dont be surprised if Ward steals a lot of rounds just doing basic stuff

I really like Andre Ward. I think with Kessler and Abraham, he's one of the top three in this thing, and the dark horse.

Granted I'm basing a lot of this on what I think he's capable of doing, rather than what he's done in the ring. I think he has all the tools, except power and there are some questions about his chin.

Too bad he has to fight my boy Kessler first. Massive step up in class.

Either way, he won't be easy for anybody to fight.

I agree with you but Let's not forget when the going got tough for calzaghe in the Kessler fight,Joe turned boxer and beat Kessler.I think Kessler needs someone to stand in front of him more but once they start moving around it's easy to get those rounds. This is something Ward is able to do.Just do the basics, good defence and movement while bagging the rounds.

ye if ward performs very well he will have a good chance of winning.
i think the early rounds are important, whoever gets into their rhythm first will have a huge advantage

Kessler is a pretty good puncher and Ward has a questionable chin. Ward will get caught with some clean punches every now and then, do you think Ward can deal with Kessler's power?
