I feel bad for Pavlik, I'm a fan of both fighters and really wanted to see this matchup. Funny how many people talk **** about someone they dont know and have never met.

However, the difference is, a boxer suffering an injury means a fight/event gets canceled. An athlete in a team sport suffering an injury means someones plays for him, which may or may not affect the outcome of the game, but doesn't cancel/postpone it outright.

sucks that the fight is off, but i doubt pavlik is faking it. it's pretty damn hard to fake a staph infection since it's an actual bacterial infection that can easily be identified with a lab culture. This isn't one of those 'I hurt the tendon/ligament and there's like, uh, inflammation, and uh, it's not ready to go, so, uh, yeah, um um um...'

He doesn't remember the steroids doctors gave him to make the reaction subside.
lol, nah that sucks big time if it's true. But I agree with other posters that if he nearly died, the fight should have been called off a long time ago. P-Will should have been informed about that so he could take another fight.
Hope pavlik recovers and is BUSY in 2010.
