Have you actually seen the first Mosley-Vargas fight? Mosley was getting "owned" by a shot,weight drained Vargas.

As for Vargas, his best wins are over a Quartey above his best weight(close but clear win), and Winky( who many thought Winky won). He lost all his big fights including Ricardo ****ing Mayorga, prime or past it i dont give a **** Mayorga wasnt in his prime neighter and FARRRRRRRR from his best weight, Vargas was also the betting fav, Vargas is not the one to be saying anything at this point, Tito and Oscar got that dude punch drunk.

Typical newb,he beat Quartey clear enough,alot more than De La Hoya ever did.Winky Wright's fight with Vargas was close enough,but it wasn't a robbery by any means,a young Vargas was alot more competitive against Wright than Mosley was when he got treated like a red headed step child twice by Winky and De La Hoya blatantly ducked Winky Wright.


Vargas was shot by the time he fought Mayorga,not just past his prime but SHOT! Vargas was past his prime when De La Hoya beat him,and that's De La Hoya's greatest win.


Trinidad and De La Hoya were made to work for their wins over Vargas,they didn't blow him out and anybody who claims they did haven't even watched those fights.

I don't agree. Vargas in his prime-which was at a very young age- was as close to living up to his nickname {Feroz} as could be. But he was a legit 154lb'er in those days, and Cotto would have been too small for him.

Trinidad ruined Vargas, as he did with so many top class and unbeaten fighters, probably more than any other fighter in the last 20 years. Trinidad was a killer, and until Hopkins beat him. Look what he did to Joppy. Just before THAT fight, there was a documentary about Joppy, and one of the poignant things I remember from it, was that all Joppy wanted was that his name should mentioned in history with the likes of Sugar Ray Robinson.

Then he fought Trinidad, and we all know what happened, and also, from then on he was finished.
