Hrgovic looked stiff and still had Dave surrounded. He was clubbing a heavy bag. This isn't the sort of win to build too much confidence. Ground level.

To be fair....according to the commentators he came in in the best shape of his life which is something considering in his last fight they said he was in the best shape of his life. Thats a positive improvement i suppose.

        IBF's HW in April
        1 NOT RATED
        2 NOT RATED
        3 Frank Sanchez Cuba (CUB)
4 Richard Torrez Jr. United States (USA)
5 Moses Itauma United Kingdom (GBR)
        6 Anthony Joshua England (ENG)
        7 Bakhodir Jalolov Uzbekistan (UZB)
        8 Filip Hrgovic Croatia (HRV)

Now, I would say that having a champion but not #1 and #2 is stuрid, but the fight for those places is Hrgovic vs Itauma.

If Filip invests efforts in improving his speed, I see him troubling, probably even beating AJ. Or if he works on his defence, but I think he is beyond that and doesn't even consider it, at least he used to be faster as an amateur, so probably some speed is still achievable.

This Allen guy - why did he have a title shot?! He is not even in the top 15! This is an absolute troll who's not even performing with will. He's there solely to throw and take a few punches before quitting and cashing - a Chisora type, only a lot worse - a lot! Filip probably took the fight only to exercise and also cash out something, it was clear he would win with no effort, so why not...

It still remains to be seen how Itauma reacts when he gets hit by big shots.

Money addict Hearn would send fighters even into a slaughterhouse if that would make him money.

Hrgovic is clearly past his best, and that’s on him. He doesn’t train hard, he parted ways with the excellent Abel Sanchez in his corner, and that headbutt Dubois delivered never healed properly. He looked noticeably stiffer than usual in his recent fights.BUT — he’s still a formidable opponent and a solid top-5 heavyweight. Given the age of the division’s top fighters right now, he could realistically become the No. 1 or No. 2 contender very soon.

For now he is cashing out on the UK boxing scene.

The IBF is feasting on mediocre British heavyweights, and Hrgovic is cashing in.

Joyce, Adeleye,, Allen....who's next. A washed up Fury?

Im not too sure Flips shots are too big. DDD took them all night. Zhang took them no problem. For sure Flip is a good opponent for him. Will likely be his best opponent to date for sure, so Moses would be going in right direction.
