Zak vs Callum would be a well matched fight

“Whoever David Morrell is meant to have next, give him to me,” he said.

That would likely mean a showdown with the former super-middleweight champion and reigning WBO interim light-heavyweight titleholder Smith.

“I’ve sparred him before and he knows I’ve beaten him up in sparring, so why not?” said Chelli.

Chelli is also open to facing Benavidez after doing what the Mexican-American could not by stopping Morrell.

“Morrell did pretty good with Benavidez, didn’t he?” Chelli said. “And I did better, so why not? I can most definitely [become world champion.]”

Chelli’s father, the former Italian light-heavyweight champion Zakaria Snr, already has an even bigger target in mind.

“[Saul] ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, if you come to light heavyweight, we go for Canelo,” Chelli Snr said. “Canelo beat all the British fighters. Okay, give him Zak. You cannot beat Zak, Canelo.”

So even though he has limited talent and ability but is starving for big bucks why not call everyone out! In all honesty he wasn't doing much but was tuff and that's because he was in with a fighter who still fight like he's in the amateur's on a point system.

Benavidez is busy at the moment - maybe Chelli should look to Khataev or Lopez he’ll even Beterbiev must be looking for something.

I like hungry fighters that just don't come in to be a victim and come in with confidence that they can win.

that was a surprise i even shut it off after a few rounds figured it would go as expected, well my loose bc i would have liked to see it happen rather then hear or read about it. But that is why they fight the fight in the ring not on the screen or in the papers, my loose Chilli's gain. Make the money be cool Chilli never know what the tables will turn.............

That was more of Morrell just really underperforming than Chelli winning.

                    No.

Why are some boxing fans like this?

Just give a man some credit who on paper took a really dangerous fight for him underprepared.

Zak Chelli is an actual school teacher who took the fight on a few weeks notice.

It speaks to Chelli's professionalism, toughness, resilience, self-belief and yes talent.

So yeah give the man his pay day. Nobody should put an asterisk against this. It's disrespectful. This is boxing and this why 2 men climb into the ring not just 1.
