Why do people hate and like certain fighters?

I proudly and openly admit I was happy Demetrius Andrade failed and it made me a bigger fan of Fat Dave for ending this scheme he was pulling. The reason why is because he tried to game the system by fighting significantly below his level for vacant interims in the hopes of coasting on his 0 in order to get a huge payday and cash out.
I have never been more happy to see a fighter fail them him in such spectacular fashion in his only big step up.Comment

yes i think he could step on the gas v elite guys but i dont think he could stop them and then he would leave himself more open as well so im sure he chooses his style to get the W in the endComment

I think of Benavidez fighting Biev at this point and if Bena walked in and stopped him it would suck, because I like Biev.
If any fighter stop Biev it would suck. But if it was a good fight and both guys tried I wouldn't go on a hate rant about whomever beat him and downplay the guy because I'm butthurt.
Why do people do that? Boxing used to be about fans wanting a good fight. Now it seems like the sport is mostly fan boys.

RIP to your father sounds like he was a fan of Buff Guy Artur
Are you Russian? You crack me up with Fat Guy Buff Guy stuff. And you seem to love Bivol.
I admittedly have a bias towards Biev. I watched him growing up with my dad (who recently passed) and we never missed a fight of his.
I think Bivol is a smart fighter but he is way too hesitant to mix it up for my taste. Apparently in sparring he has power, he just doesn't often sit down on his punches in real fights. It frustrates me to watch him because I feel that he could be a fun guy to watch.
Me I'm a fan of Russia
Top Soviet Bivol WAS a ko puncher until after the Sullivan Barrera fight
that was the last time I seen him sit down on right hands to knock someone out
Like Floyd Top Soviet Bivol has GLASS HANDS problem
so they developed a punching technique and style to protect their glass hands

pre-internet if their guy lost, they'd go back to living life outside offline in the world
they wouldn't constantly remind themself of what happened to their fighter👍 1Comment

These fat asf heavyweights common these days who take millions of dollars and looked like they haven’t trained for more than 2 weeks gets me more frustrated than anything these days. Miller, Bakole, Ruiz, Whyte.
also Shakur because he never pushes himself over 80% to try and hurt his opponent, then talks ****y asf like he’s the second coming of Leonard.Comment

Whatever the reasons for liking or disliking an athlete are, they're always personal, and in that sense, it's very hard to generalise. I don't mind it, it's just that some fans are unable to come out of their bias and be objective, they even take it personally when you say something about an athlete (or team) they like - very pointless, unintelligent even. Athletes and teams come and go, sports stay. I don't care if I have sympathy for an athlete who, despite that, is not necessarily number 1, 2, 3 or 4, even if someone else says he's *hit.Comment

My least favorite fighters are guys who play the whole "A side/B side" game & use that as an excuse to not fight the best competition.
Also, the folks who believe in "letting fights marinate" and try to wait for their biggest threats to be beat by somebody else or get old.
Usually, they end up fighting people worst & less popular than the supposed "B-side" fighter, but you're not supposed to think about that.👍 1Comment
