Because he has ducked/ran from various fighters along the way who probably would've; Beterbiev, Jermall Charlo, Derevyenchenko, Benavidez, Golovkin at 35 instead of 33, Morrell Jr. I, and many millions of other fans around the world need to seem him KO'd as a form of justice for all the shenanigans he has pulled He has been a cancer to the sport for over a decade!

How would Canelo be leap-frogging anyone if he is Benavidez's voluntary defence? Canelo has ducked Benavidez for the best part of 5 years now, anything to facilitate the fight to occur would be welcome. If money really is the barrier that he says it is hopefully somebody is able to call his bluff to prove it, although in reality there is no amount of money to get him in the ring with Benavidez

The only reason you would begrudge Canelo from earning a big payday to the extent you are here is because you probably work in an entry level job down the local factory and you're on minimum wage. The Bud fight was a perfect fight for him. Outskilled, embarrassed. But he wasn't really hurt badly and he knew he could blame it on some bs injury.

Canelo's ego is EVERYTHING. This is why he aged out GGG. Prime GGG would have stopped him. Instead Canelo got a gift draw and a decision when he clearly lost the first fight and the second fight was a closer loss that could have been a draw.

Benavidez touched up on this in one of his interviews this week concerning him and Canelo. Basically stating that there is a Mexican civil war between Mexican Americans and Mexican fighters. I believe it.

I believe that Canelo has too much pride and ego to lose to a Mexican American and that his fans will never forgive him for it if he did lose. To the Mexican fans, they would immediately latch on to Canelo and consider David the enemy. Just because he wasn't born on Mexican soil.

Then you have an Oscar Dela Hoya vs Julio Cesar Chavez situation. It's not pretty when the Mexican American wins. Heck, even for David it just might hurt his stock with the Mexican people because they'll be mad that he beat their "Mexican" champ.
