Comments Thread For: David Benavidez: I?m stronger and at my best at cruiserweight

Benavidez says he's feeling stronger and more powerful at cruiserweight, and that he has more energy now that he no longer has to run daily in order to make light heavyweight.

He's foolish if he thinks he will make 175 again.

He will. He is a fat Cruiserweight and he is on weight he said multiple times his out of shape walking around weight is around 200 and i believe him saying he is already on weight for this fights since 1 week.

The question is will he win against a guy that brings 20 pounds more into the ring and did he train hard enough knowing he didnt had to to lose all his fat. Ramirez believe it or not is way bigger always has been. Benavidez always was kind of skinny fat on fight night and in between fights he was just straight out fat but compared to other 175 fighters and even 168 fighters like Callum Simpson he is not as big as people try to make it, most of this is a narrative from the canelo fanboys.

I mean, if he's saying that, why on earth go back down to LH? Though we'll see how he performs with the bigger fellas. He's getting closer to HW territory and while he might feel great in training, fighting the bigger guys might show that he bit off more than he can chew. Though we'll see, maybe he does fit perfect there, but then I can't see him going back to LH to be successful again.

Spray_resistant calling it now Fat Davey gets MOPPED HARD at 175 as he drains himself in pursuit of the belts of Top Soviet Bivol

Dave is simply too damn fat with those fat cells he developed during his time as a fat kid

My training camp hasn’t really changed, but this is the most stress-free I’ve ever been,” Benavidez said. “Training is always gonna be hard, but [...] I’ve never been in a position where I don’t have to worry about the weight, and that’s gonna make me more dangerous. When you cut weight, you’re running like seven miles every single day. Right now I don’t have to run at all. I don’t have to deplete myself, and I can use that extra energy in the fight.

“A heavyweight title would be great for my legacy, but I’m not interested in that right now,” Benavidez said. “If I go up to heavyweight, that will be later in my career. I want to go back down to 175 and win all the rest of the belts and reign there for a little bit. I definitely think heavyweight is in my future, but not right now.

he was wobbled by Cuban Dave

We’ll find out if Dave slowing down in rounds 9 through 12 was due to weight cut induced stamina issues

Not a good sign that a signifiant motivation seems to be not having to do training runs.

                  athletes usually don’t mind running

refusing to run is common among fat boys who do martial arts

Lots of hate towards Benavidez, but he's proven himself time and time again! I can't wait to watch haters switch and get on the bandwagon once he knocks off their favorite fighter.
