    I posted this here before but it was seemingly ignored:

    Filipino boxer Macario Flores is the earliest-known practitioner of this punch. According to the March 27, 1924 Tacoma News Tribune (Tacoma, WA, USA): "Flores lets his right hand go just as his country men throw a bolo knife. The blow is not only hard, but it is as fast as a streak of lightning, being almost impossible to follow with the human eye."

          You guys can look that up too. but I think it is the opposite. Boondocks came from the word bundok so it had Filipino origins. Look it and correct me if I am wrong.

              i was being sarcastic.

              boondocks came from bundok. american soldiers returning from philippines brought the term to the u.s.

                Whatever dog. You got your facts twisted. They use the word Bolo in indonesia too which is linguistically similar to the Philippines . Bolo is a southeast asian word.
