It was a combination of that and "when Fury's ready".

We will know that what Fury says and what he does are different things. That's was a classic Fury move - make the fight now, I'm ready, sign the contract etc. It's much easier to say those things in public than to actually make the fight around a table.

Joshua and Hearn made it very clear a few years ago that they're not entertaining any public fight offers or fake deadlines anymore. They'll talk around a table.

Turki's involvement was a bit weird though. Clearly the fight isn't even close to made.

not very impressive stuff from benn or fury. especially fury. 16 months out of the ring is pretty standard in this age of boxing. let's not pretend you're sugar ray leonard getting back into the ring with hagler after 3 years.

        Get it done.
Fury is keen to get that final retirement pay. Joshua doesnt need the fight. He has cash and sponsorship and nowhere near the financial liability that is Paris and those seven kids.

Yep...Hearn can't commit because AJ is in 2 minds about ever stepping in the ring and throwing with bad intentions again.

Sad Fury needs the fame to feel relevant. AJ was so on point calling him a Clout Chaser!

Fury honouring Hatton is a reminder of the future he's gonna face very soon. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't go out the same way...

Obviously with Turkis shout out to his "brothers" at TKO his involvement is to make the WWE style setup for the fight. Its the only reason he would call out his good friend Eddie. Unfortunately he doesnt have fluent enough english to be able to pull off the acting convincingly enough.

Joshua is done. This kid will never fight again. And better not. Fury will punish him badly.

Surpised AJ still wants to box after that accident. Unless he is going to donate a % of this purse to the victims families.

Fury and Joshua fighting each other is about egos. They are both rich beyond ours and their wildest dreams. Do you think Fury is doing the Nexflix TV show for free?

The world will be a better place if Fury never stepped into a ring again.

Honestly, Tyson Fury is the saddest, most pathetic creature getting round today, but the orange reality tv show host will go back to owning that title tomorrow...

The world will be a better place once he's moved on too!

I think AJ's ego died on a Nigerian highway. It's strictly business now...

...and i would hope he's channeling his profits and riches toward higher causes than clout chasing.
