Wilder is a strange one. He had Chisora in trouble in the corner at one stage - seeming had him for the taking - and paused to tell him 'I love you' before continuing with the punishment.
He for sure took it easy and only punched serious when buzzed and his true muscle memory kicked in, and still told him sorry i love when actually throwing for real, there was like 4 times chisora was defensless and Wilder backed off and didn't decapitate him
I don't see that he took it easy at all on Chisora and gave all that he had in his tank. If he wanted to Chisora to throw everything and the kitchen sink at him as he told him to do so at the stare down, then Wilder equally did and could not truly put away Chisora.
There were moments where it appeared Wilder could have stepped on the gas for sure, but I also think that Wilder is long gone. He's lacking a spark or the ignition to make him jump in with his big punches as reckless as he used to.
His thing where he lays on the ropes and just waits for the fighter to walk in throwing bombs is weird. I don't recall him doing that much in his younger years and not sure if his style change had anything to do with that and now he doesn't know how to get away from it.
