    Amateur vs Pro NONSENSE

AMATEUR BOXING PROMOTERS: STOP giving out BELTS to winners of local amateur shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you think it looks cool and you think you’re doing something special for the fighters but it’s ridiculous and it’s embarrassing. You have kids who may not even be good enough to win a local Golden Glove championship but they have 15 WBC belts in their house for winning one fight at a time on a local show somewhere????!!!!??????!?!?!?

Belts are for PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONS, to be won, defended and sometimes lost and transferred…TROPHIES are for AMATEURS to win and signify victory on a show or a tournament.

A big trophy for the winner and a small trophy or a metal for the loser/runner-up.

The sanctioning bodies figured out how to suck all of you gullible easily influenced people into wanting to subconsciously make the kids covet professional belts and pay sanction fees to them as opposed to wanting trophies and GOLD medals for amateur victories.

YOU want the gold medal to be replaced by a PROFESSIONAL championship belt.

If I ever do another amateur show I will NEVER ever ever ever ever give out belts.

Brainwashing them to pay sanctioning fees in the future

boxing already has way too many belts as it is

2 per weight would be optimal for hyping super fights

    max 3 a weight

right now is 4 going onto 5 or 6

    too many ‘champs’

fighting is not a team sport

Professional boxing is about monetary compensation, the belts are just trophies. Pros want to be PAID.

no. TROPHIES are trophies. Every champion I’ve known has kept his championship belt prominently in his house

What's the difference between a belt and a trophy? Technically a belt is a type of trophy.
