Taylor is an awesome referee. I have no complaints about him. Always happy to see him officiating a fight. Him slowly bringing his hands in to a sort of clap right after the fighters touch gloves and head to their corners is his signature move. I love that he always tells the fighters to "work out of it" and "hands are free". Such a great departure from refs who constantly step in to separate the fighters and let one or both get away with zero inside fighting.

That was a legit point deduction for hitting well after the bell and after Taylor separated them and had a hold of Benavidez who, because of that, was not in a position to defend himself. Total sucker punch.👍 2Comment

This was a great call. Benavidez was hitting right on the sound of the bell maybe his last punch was a bit late. Morrell looked at him and decided to throw a pure retaliation shot way way after the bell and that shot was a power punch on a fighter that was not expecting any punch since the round was clearly over. Also Benavidez was visible hurt from the shot and if he would have acted like some fighters in the past did Morrell could have ended up disqualified.
St*pid action from Morrell and great call from the ref.👍 2Comment
