If a promoter no longer has a platform (ARUM) does he still exists ?
Haha. Like the sound of one hand clapping?
Fortunately, the BobFather has let his stable fight on other cards, such as Torrez Jr fighting on the Fundora-Thurman undercard. And he's had Zayas and others fight on their Tubi stream, which is great because it's FREE. Hopefully, they get their platform sorted out soon, though. I wish they'd just join DAZN so I don't have to pay for another subscription.
Now we'll see if Jai really wants to unify and if Zuffa is willing to bend.
Zuffa can't bend now. They can't say "yeah well I suppose the IBF is the real belt and ours is just made up".
IBF need to hold strong on this. If Jai vacates their belt to fight for the Zuffa then there's no doubt their belt is diminished. But the alternative is worse in the long term... they can't afford to cave on this one.
Jai will follow the money. No judgement from me on that but it's what he'll do. That's why he signed for Zuffa in the first place.

I think Zuffa can bend because they don't exactly have the right yet to create their own belt. I think they could be in violation of the Ali Act, as it stands now, if they do. So, that would be an out for them. Something like "in the light of the fact that the revised Ali Act hasn't passed Congress yet..."

to me it is kinda like who cares what Zuff says right now or how it creates belts there is plenty wrong with the old system of today anyhow. am more interested only in what happens in the ring right now and what is good for more fights, more exposure for boxing, and making boxing more attractive to outsiders to come in. The way to do that is more fights being more available even if it is by accident. Every promoter needs some luck besides skill in match ups and outcomes. It is boxing..... there is always a chance that ................could happen.

That's a good attitude to have. I've dumped on the alphabet belts and promoters plenty and always will. BS needs to be called out, whether it does anything or not. So, hopefully the entrance of Zuffa will be a catalyst for positive change in many areas out of necessity.
