Yes, Barrios was the least challenging WW ATM but more importantly Garcia seems to have gained discipline as well as a mature perspective of his career.

He should aim for that Benn fight in the UK and expand his fan base.

He should NOT fight Shakur next. Shakur by near shutout.

It does appear to me, that Garcia has gone backwards as a fighter. He may have just become the 147 pound WBC Champion last night, but his best performance in my opinion? Was beating Luke Campbell in the latter part of his career'.

Note: Ryan Garcia vs. Mario Barrios was a fight stylistically right up his street 'and he still struggled to destroy a fighter, who was right there in front of him to be smashed up for the entire 12 rounds'.

I would back Devin Haney to beat this current version of Ryan Garcia over 12 rounds 'and it may be easier than many people expect'.

Nevertheless, Ryan Garcia dud rise to the occasion and with a underwhelming performance in my opinion 'considering his ability. He seized the opportunity and won his first World title'.

To conclude: It most likely makes sense from this point, to match Ryan Garcia in a winnable big fight ''such as vs. Conor Benn. Before fighting any of the other top level 147 pound fighters, prolong his championship reign for as long as possible'.

Because I don't see a dominant World Champion, Ryan Garcia is there for the taking against many other top level 147 pound fighters 'I think Devin Haney and his team should really be pursuing this fight. And I would rate that fight as a much bigger boxing event, than Conor Benn vs. Ryan Garcia'.

But I would be very surprised if Oscar De La Hoya, and team Garcia want to fight Devin Haney next 'it makes more sense to make a title defense in a much easier fight, and more winnable defense vs. Benn' etc.

He won every round on my score card except for 1 and the judges had it very similar. He landed a first round knock down, pitched a near shut out, and out landed Barrios 185 to 106. We all know if you're getting close to out landing your opponent by 100 punches then it's a dominating performance. These weren't pitty patty punches either, when Garcia landed, it shook Barrios and had him backing up. I still don't understand why boxing fans continue to downplay Garcia's talent besides from being a hater. You realize he went through the ranks as a amateur, right?

Compare and contrast the performance last night where Garcia pummeled the s h i t outta Barrios to Haney's against Norman who he was holding onto for dear life to suffocate his power or his fight against Ramirez where he stayed away from him the entire fight and almost never engaged.

Garcia would beat Haney if they fought again.

How exactly is Crawford a hater? Ryan's performance was no different from how he fought Tank or Rolly. Barrios was just Basura!

Props to Ryan, but beating Barrios should be easy. At least he exposed Manny. Ryan did something Manny can't.

I don't care if it was a dominating performance; stylistically it was a super easy fight for Garcia 'Barrios just like Garcia would struggle to become a World Champion in many of the past boxing eras'.

Ryan Garcia is not an elite level fighter 'nobody is down playing his talents; he is a fighter with some speed and power. That is about it'.

Mario Barrio's was stylistically one of the easiest title fights ever for Garcia 'he was there to be knocked out for 12 rounds straight, and even still Garcia could not achieve this feat'.

Note: Devin Haney's last performance and win, was more impressive than Garcia's win over Barrio's 'Brain Norman Junior is a better fighter than Mario Barrio's and in my opinion Norman would beat Ryan Garcia'.

If you understand boxing, and are honest with yourself 'then you will know that Garcia really is not competing at the same level as Devin Haney'.

To conclude: Ryan Garcia would be very fortunate to retain his WBC World titles for maybe 1 to 2 defenses 'in order for him to achieve that, he is going to have to avoid fighting the real top level fighters in the 147 pound divisions'.

Remember? When and if Ryan Garcia fights Devin Haney again 'he has to actually make the 147 pound weight limit, and compete with Haney in an equal and fair fight'.

Like I said in my first post on this thread, Garcia as a fighter has gone backwards in my opinion 'his best win skill for skill is still against Luke Campbell in the latter part of his career. And even in that fight Garcia was losing the fight up until the stoppage'.

Ryan Garcia is a solid fighter, and I suppose he has given certain boxing fights an entertaining journey etc.

It was a good win for Ryan. All the Haney clingers trying to discredit Barrios. Meanwhile, Barrios landed 19 more punches on Ryan than Haney did. Only went down once and not three times.

The fact that you're using punch stats to analyze a fight speaks for itself.
