    Gamboa
    Pacquiao
    Mayweather with single shots

    All-time:

    Meldrick Taylor
    Roy Jones
    Muhammad Ali
    Floyd Patterson
    Hector Camacho
    Ray Robinson
    Ray Leonard
    Howard Davis Jr.

Might be forgetting a couple of names.

I recently saw rare footage of Panama Al Brown, the near 6 feet tall bantamweight, and he looked very fast.

Pacquiaos speed is weird. He doesn't move around as quick as a guy like Gamboa, but when something needs to be done quickly..he can do it.

Even Mayweather moves and performs actions quicker than Pacquiao. It's only when Pacquiao decides to be fast that most can't even see it.

Against Oscar De la Hoya there were a few times that his left hand couldn't even be seen, it was only Oscars head popping back that gave in indication. Same with his foot work, he will be coasting around at an above average pace, then when he feels the need to get out of the situation quickly..he can really book it.

As opposed to Gamboa or Mayweather as they are always trying to do everything fast, it almost gives it away and makes it easer for the slower opponent to time.

It's probably one of the tiny guys at minimumweight.

            Good observation.

That is part of Pac's deception. Notice fighters say Pac is not fast until he met them in the ring.

Coz Pac doesnt do too much flashy moves which tends to highlight how fast he really is. He relies on his boxing fundamentals, the angles, proper positions, head and shoulder movement, footword etc.

When he sees the angles then thats the time he usually pops u with quick combos, then slows down a bit again.

Meldrick Taylor threw those lightning quick punches in bunches but overall I don't think anyone impressed me more with his handspeed than Roy Jones. Single lead shots, one-twos, counter shots, punches in bunches. They are all ridiculously fast.

Right now? Maybe Pacquiao. Dawson is extremely fast too. Floyd is fast but really ever since he left 130, and especially above 140, it's less of his hand speed that really impresses me. I'm much more impressed with his defense, punch selection, intelligence, and other factors than handspeed.

Tough to compare fighters of different weight classes.
