Williams should fight Martinez, but not in December. A loss is a loss but he took Quintana after Cintron dropped out, on short notice. We know how that went. We saw what he was capable of when he had full preparation. Martinez is too good an oponent to fight on short notice. So here are his options as i see it.

A. since he is in limbo, why not try to jump in the super six, he could atleast get some notoriety out of it

B. wait until January 23 so Pavlik can find another reason not to fight him

C. Schedule a full training regimen to fight Martinez, that way that can both get what they want out of the fight.

D. Go on the Welterweight waiting list. Because we know that none of them will fight him.

How do we go from Middleweight KING Kelly Pavlik in which the consensus was Williams is going to beat his ass... To Martinez?

I think Williams would seriously end the career of a fighter who could possibly
turn out to be a good fighter after he gets some more experience.

but hey if they fight, I would still watch!
but i would rather Williams fight a Sturm so at least he can become ranked at middleweight and at least become a 4 TIME world champion at that too.

I was really exicited to see if he could have pulled it off....but now Williams is in the same position he was in 2007. **** out of luck...and stuck between 3 divisions...

I rather see him tryed to dominate the middleweight division in Pavliks absence, rather than weight hop again against no name fighters.

Paul Should try to wreck shop at Middleweight and if Pavlik comes back
let that fight be for the ring belt, undisputed title, and any other title you can think of....Paul Williams should take this oppurtunity to pick up a belt if he can, and better yet get Accustomed to 160.

Kelly Pavlik is too one-dimensional and only has a 1-2 in his arsenal. Sergio Martinez is a very quick south paw, well rounded, accurate counter puncher, good chin/ power and provides angles. Overall better then Carlos Quintana and we all saw what Quintana did. On paper, Pavlik may seem like the harder opponent due to what he has accomplished but he really isn't.
