    He’s definitely no Floyd Mayweather.

    He’s more like a Rigondeaux.

Pretty Boy Floyd was an offensive assassin. People forgot about the pretty boy era and Just remember Money Mayweather.

Stevenson doesnt take any risk when he fights, he likes to coast, plus there's nobody in this era that can push him to make adjustments. Let's be honest the Mexicans & Latinos of the 70s, 80s and 90s are gone skill wise. Theres no Chavez, Arguello, Morales, Barrera, Sanchez to push Stevenson to make adjustments.

Him and Devin Haney can run the table respectfully. Stevenson should be the one fighting in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is messing up, thats your new second coming not Xander lol.

Theres nothing out there that can beat Stevenson at 140. Boxing isnt the same anymore. Theres no Aaron Pryor, Azuma Nelson, Oscar De La Hoya or even a Shane Mosley ( lightweight) out there now a days.

We don't even have a good European / American pressure fighter ( Mancini or Hatton).

No technically front foot fighter like Kosta.

A southpaw with a longer reach beats Shakur. It will be like watching Fencing.

Shakur is not entertaining Inside or Outside ring. He will keep Jabing and Steping back all his career facing Orthodox fighters. We knew he strugle vs South paw De Los Santos.

Yeah being that defensive minded is a real double edged sword. On one hand you will be basically unbeatable because you are fighting Olympic style, you are there to win on points. So all the "pure boxing" fans will call you a great and hoot and holler about how amazing you are, no one can touch you, etc.

But the casual fan likes action, knockdowns and fighting. And they won't pay for UD snoozers.

Rare is the fighter who has the defense and offense to stop good fighters while not getting hit. There is a reason the pro's do not have Olympic rules. Nobody will pay to watch Olympic boxing.

This is the thing that "pure boxing" fans never seem to understand. Reaching for greatness means to take risks. Pro boxing is about the fans who pay to see the fights. To be defensively AND offensively great is what makes a pro boxer great or not.

I like Shakur. Maybe he will one day commit to his punches a bit more and become a star.

Good post. I appreciate how good Shakur is yet at the same time I would NEVER pay to watch one of his fights.

For example, last night, he was so dominant there was literally nothing Teo could do. Every time Shakur was a bit aggressive he had success he landed a couple of clean hard punches, yet he did not go for the kill. He just chose to coast to an easy decision. Even the corner was talking about "taking him out" but Shakur never went for it even though he could have.
