On another site Hearns is quoted talking about how he failed Jai and didn't get him the right fights etc. Basically not blaming Jai cause he didn't do his part. They neglected and couldn't market the most feared guy at cruiserweight. (Benavidez said that he'll face Zurdo, but needs time to get ready for someone like Opetaia.

I mean, Zurdo isnt known as some killer. Its a fight between 2 Mexicans that always brings a crowd and $. Imho, Benavidez is smart to get the bag b4 fighting Jai. Him vs Zurdo is his 1st fight at cw, too. See how it goes and fight Jai in a unification if he wins

Not getting the fights doesn't mean he was neglected. It's still a failure, but not necessarily one of Jai or his team's making.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Jai has just decided that loads of cash is better than hanging around trying to fight for the belts that no-one would fight him for.

I have had a beef with them since the 80s with their shoddy treatment of the FRIDAY THE 13TH series, and that's a benign grievance at best in comparison with other shady practices of which they're involved. They are the epitome of corporate stooges.

Paramount has pretty good tv content though. Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lioness, etc etc
